Actually built around hand tracking. A chill, clever game actually built around the hand tracking functions, with a charming, meditative soundtrack and the cutest character noises. Works even better on the Quest 3. A great way to discover hand tracking in VR.
Fun...until it's not. I loved the idea of hand tracking and the concept of the game is creative. However it quickly loses its charm once it stops recognizing hand gestures or even loses ability to recognize your whole hand. I am stuck on a level the requires the shadow gun, however it barely registers the gesture to form the gun and when it does, the gun pops into existence only to disappear immediately. I can hear the gun clicking on and off when my hands aren't even in the field of vision, but when I want to access it....not happening. There is no other way to pass the level, so it looks like I am done with this game. In addition, the hand shadows will randomly disappear even though the effects still work (i.e. I can move my hand around to interact with aspects of the puzzle, but without a visible shadow, I can't track where my hand is in relation to the puzzle). Once again, the first few puzzles were fun and entertaining, as you progress in the game, they get more complex and handtracking just isn't up to par. I am currently playing this game on the Meta Quest 2 device. There have been issues throughout the game, but by far Level 22 has been the most frustrating with trying to use the gun.

Who doesn't like to play with Shadows. Cute little indie puzzler with the bonus of hand-tracking controls to make things more interesting.
Use Caution. Okay, I like this game. The puzzles are fun, the design of the character is cute. The puzzles make sense: I can look it over, and usually I can figure it out.
The problem comes in with the shadow controls.
I'll be frank: Obviously this is a gimmick game. Use hand controls, solve puzzles. Cute. I like it. I frankly wanted more hand-control games for my Oculus, which is why I bought this one. Playing this game has single-handedly (pun intended) explained why there are so few hand-control games on the Oculus right now. When my hand isn't phasing through itself, it's freezing up for no reason. My hands can be in the same place, moving slowly so the character won't phase through my hand, and suddenly the game will not only assume I'm not moving, not ONLY assume that I've apparently turned into a statue, but will ALSO randomly assume that I'm no longer wanting to do the silhouette puzzle as it's MILES away from where I was just trying to solve it.
The worst part is easily that the character will die if you squish it with your hand, meaning every time my hand phases out of reality by no fault of my own: Bam. Squished. Reset. Again.
I was literally doing one puzzle on the most color-contrasting area of my normally-fine border, and it would. Not. Read. I started getting VCR lines across my left hand randomly.
I'd like to sandwich with a reminder that this is NOT a bad game. The hand controls are it's biggest detriment, which is also the reason I bought it to begin with. Maybe when the Quest 3 comes out the hand-controls will be able to support a precision-puzzle such as this, but as of writing this, it might be better to save your money and play other puzzle-based games, or just sitting until there's a console that can actually work with it.
Amazing concept; poor movement controls. I know moving with hand-tracking is still a work in progress in the industry. But the teleport system needs to be trashed and replaced with a "grab and pull" system.

Great Game Hand Tracking Masterpiece. Hand tracking shadow puzzles in a colorful world to stimulate the mind and exercise your hand movements. It also has a calming zen effect. I strongly recommend. If developers can continue to support future updates of Meta hand tracking modules that would be awesome.
I love this little game but can’t get the pistol function to work so I can’t get past the fourth puzzle. Light level, hand position, nothing seems to help. All the other controls work easily.
It was cute otherwise kinda awful. All that I got from the experience was an extremely glitchy mess where the characters fell through my hand and the gun function rarely read my hands which might just be my oculus so keep it in mind, but I have other games that I love playing with hand tracking so it might just be the game. On top of that there is no hight adjuster so if you are short like me have a stool prepared to finish some of the puzzles. Besides that I liked the world design and music, these could make a good meditation app if the puzzles didn't make me so mad. If you think getting angry over puzzles that are impossible to do with the hand tracking is worth just the look of a game this game may be for you.
Love this game! I really love this game! The puzzles are challenging and it's a great sense of accomplishment every time I complete one. I feel like both sides of my brain are getting a workout! The hand tracking is excellent. Something other games should aspire to. I love the little "bird." I'll be sorry when I'm done and I hope there is either an update with more challenges or a second edition. Highly recommend.
Do not get this game. This game didn’t work the second I got it and not only does the game crash, my entire headset broke and I couldn’t fix it for an hour. This game is an oculus parasite.
Ten shadow hands out of ten. I’m enjoying it a lot Pros: + “Portal” old school pleasant graphics style plus “Limbo” style characters and puzzles
+ “Shadowmatic” style puzzle gameplay, simple, catchy, a ton of mechanics
+ Amazing control solutions promoting hand tracking in the best way
+ Very calm peaceful ambient music and chill atmosphere. Enjoyable place to hide from the real life daily routine and save some money on analytics sessions.
+ Sitting mode with a lot of settings: height, portal activation timer (make it faster than 2aec by default for a smooth experience), sounds settings
Imaginative. VR needs many more games like this. Imaginative ones. Games that can only exist in VR.
For me, this game shows the potential of both VR as a medium and the reward we will all reap by having faith in it’s future. Meta is in for a glorious year! Quest 3 and beautiful games like this.
A Chill VR Puzzler Using Hand Tracking. I like Silhouette for what it is, a cheap puzzler that uses VR in a way I have never experienced before. It won't blow anyone’s mind and if you are good a this (and don't run into too many tracking issues), you could probably breeze through all the puzzles in under 3 hours. Most of the puzzles offer up something different from the others and by the time I did finish the game, I was happy with my time spent in here as right when I started to think the puzzles were becoming a little redundant, it was over making for a well-paced and satisfying title for a fair price.

Absolutely delightful. A little gem of a game with a great concept and gameplay, and wonderful music.
You have to guide adorable little shadow beings (the Shadowies) through increasingly complex puzzles and, boy, never have I felt so guilty for accidentally throwing virtual creatures into the void. They are incredibly cute. Getting to hold them in the palm of your hand also makes you uniquely invested in them.
The puzzles - hand tracking based - involve using your hands' shadows to help the Shadowies reach the exit, by creating bridges for them, carrying them up, or manipulating the shadow environment. It's fun, challenging and refreshing. More complex mechanics are added as you progress, which keeps things interesting.
Between the endearing little creatures, the beautiful music and the pleasant scenery, the game ends up both extremely immersive and fun, as well as relaxing (except when you get uniquely invested in adorable shadow beings and then accidentally drop them, of course).
Definitely worth playing to experience it firsthand, especially at this price.
Hand tracking at its best. Hand tracking is so much fun especially when your using your brain the same time. Create shadows with your hands to rescue creatures. This is an amazing experience and one that has to be tried to fully understand how good it is. Moving around works really well and each puzzle is unique and has different ways to clear them.
