Fun for hours. Unlike many VR games, this is one that can take up jours of your time. The moving mechanics are fine once you get used to it, but having the option to move around with joysticks (a la FPS) should be added. This reminds me of a combination of Actraiser (on SNES) and WarCraft II. Buy this game as there’s nothing else like it on the Quest 3.
Enjoy from above. Remember games like Populous and Black and white? A bit resoursemanagement like the Anno series..If you enjoy those games Townsmen is perfect for you!
It combines RTS and GODsim in the best possible way which is perfect for VR! The simplistic gameplay and funny graphicstyle makes it a nice VR experience. There is a broad range of buildings and more options under each to expand your civilization. There is so many funny little details and suprises and its a relaxgame that i can really recommend to those.
I hope the developers will add some multiplayer and Mixed reality mode,. 💡 it would be awesome to battle friends like this on my dinnertable.
Mastering Islands and Managing Chaos. Initially, this game piqued my interest, but I was skeptical. Having played other God-Like simulation games where the mechanics and gameplay felt awkward, I simply passed on them. Then, one day, as I was rummaging through the store, I wanted something new. So, I picked my poison and chose this game because someone offered a coupon. Well, I am so glad I did. I tend to have a short attention span when it comes to games; I can quickly lose interest, but with this one, I find myself continually coming back to check on my townspeople. Not only is the game beautiful and Zen, but the mechanics are also really easy to pick up. In the beginning, you go through some islands, I guess, to learn the gameplay. I was a little disappointed after setting things up that we had to keep running from island to island, but then I realized this is just so you can get familiar with the game. Now that I am on my 3rd Island, I understand things more, and it is starting to come together. I am really enjoying it. Yes, you have to feed your people and make sure they have food and water, and ensure they can hunt and gather stones, etc. At first, I was just running around like a chicken with its head cut off, but now I am starting to get it. The only gripe I have thus far with the game, and I hope the developers see this, is positioning buildings; that is really awkward to get it into the position you want. Also, it does not tell you how to get more villager onto the land. I had to Google that, and I am not sure what the heart means - are they dying? I did not realize they were dying until I only had one resident in my village. It would be nice if there were gravestones, so you can see how many of your villagers have died, or some sort of statistic. Otherwise, it's an excellent game, and I think it is by far my favorite game on the Meta Quest 3. I hope the developers keep adding new things. I would be willing to buy expansion packs and hope one day they make a modern city or futuristic one and add kids. This game is awesome if you want a slightly challenging, yet Zenful gameplay experience.
