GREAt but NOT perfect. Since my brother and I have started playing this game we have had a blast (mostly). The puzzles are always enjoyable and exciting, challenges are mostly fun (read below), spooky jump scares combined with the eerie soundtrack and captivating story make this game so much more enjoyable. Additionally, exploring the mansion is awesome + you get collectables for doing so! No matter if you are playing alone or with someone, you will enjoy this unique experience.
This being said the game could use some improvements. As others have noted in the reviews, the platforming sections can be very frustrating to say the least. The jumping mechanism is far from perfect which makes the jumping challenges aggravating. For example: The section with the emblematic was extremely challenging for two reasons. One, just jumping on to the platforms is hard but then moving around as the platforms move is almost impossible. The only way I and other have been able to jump on her head to start the challenge was by using the fireplace and one platform to reach the head, but not as intended. Second, after you reach the head with the apples, no matter how physically hard I would throw the apple, the throw would not reach the target or react as it should. I thought I would be stuck here forever but luckily I made the shot after 60 tries. Another almost impossible section is the secret lab with lasers which I am now completely stuck in. I have tried over and over for the last couple of weeks but this section got the best of me. I read the develpers tips and watched walk-through videos but CANNOT pass without hitting a laser. My brother and I have stopped playing ever since. I respect all that the developers do and the great game they created but the platform sections are more frustrating than fun and takes away from the outstanding game experience. This is just my opinion but having seen multiple people complaining over the same issue and hearing it from people that have played, I consider this an issue that can be improved in the future (hopefully soon). Or at least have a skip button that can be paid with sc currency.
Love the gameplay, hate the physics. This is absolutely crazy that this game is: fun, creepy, exploratory, has a good story and is FREE. I have been obsessed with this game playing it daily for a week. Love the story and the exploration.
But, I think the physics of the game could be improved. There are challenges that you must jump and/or throw things, which have been very irritating to me. I had a very difficult time with the emblematic level, the gymnasium, and now am stuck in the secret lab. It's pretty hard to tell whether or not you actually hit the Lazer, and I wish the jumping and running mechanism would be improved to help on these levels.
Giving 5 stars because I love the game and story,and hoping that the devs will improve the physics, or maybe offer an option to skip the jumping and throwing.

Bad. Levels are basically unplayable and everything is an add on. Not recommend.
Frustrated. Great game. I've really enjoyed playing it and following all the clues and working things out. Some levels have been harder than others but so far I've managed to work them out. I'm frustrated because I'm stuck at the secret lab. I've tried everything I can think of and I either get transported by a monster or i hit a laser beam. Sometimes I'm not even near it and I get transported. I've been at it for 5 days now and may have to admit defeat which is a shame as I was enjoying the game so much.
Messed up. I was having a lot of fun. There's no way this game is free! Than I ran into the apple toss. Like many good puzzle games, they HAD to throw in a quick time jump platform physical test. I am not physically capable of throwing the apple far enough, I'm just not. It's bullsh** to tease me with a great game than just wall me like that. It's uneeded and doesn't flow with the game at all.
Chapter 18. "If you can get through the lasers you can get through anything". Um, not so much. We have been stuck at chapter 18 with absolutely no more ideas of how to proceed. Chapter 17 ended before we found all three of the birthday clues. We were at 79% but today we are at 77%. We have been in the doll house but can't get there now. We are in the attic now but keep getting booted back to the main room when we pick up the yellow key (the hint says "key" but there are actually 4 keys. It's been awesome up to now. We won't finish it unless there's some dev input. Our other team is stuck in the lasers... they're less and less happy as the days go on.... appreciate the work that must go into this. Hoping to hear from someone so we can determine if we've got a glitch happening - we've never been booted to the main room like this before... thank you.
Great time playing with family. Have been playing this game with my adult daughter and my husband. After work we sometimes join this game each from different locations and play it. We are about 40% into the game and so far we do love the game. I do love the storyline going on with the history of the manor however the storyline with why and how we are there may need a little work as it doesn't feel as scary so far as the manor itself. I wasn't expecting much with this game but I have to say that I love the game and we have had an awesome time hanging out playing this game. The one thing that does need some work is perhaps the platforms. They move and leave you behind. We did get through it but took a lot to get past this although we were laughing the entire time. The other part is the room with the red lasers. We left off there and again we have been laughing at each other but I can see how this part can frustrate a single player. Can't tell when you touch them and we don't seem to touch them but yet we still get thrown back out. We discovered the game area and we do love all the games for SC points. That was an extra part that is really fun. I will be doing the haunted hospital next. Thanks so much for your work with this game.
Was fun till I found jumping didn't work. Fun game until I got stuck for hrs and have found no walk thru or info on how to jump on the moving platforms I tried everything fireplace etc I've double jumped with no success . Guess I've gone as far as I can go in this game, tried everything did find one video but I couldn't duplicate their jump after another hr of trying I'm still close but not getting any closer to the top I give up . A wee bit too difficult need a skip to just move past this objective
Controllers not working. I thought I'd try some applab things to get into the VR world. On this one - i can not "point" the controller(s) to do anything. it just hung in a room, prompting me to create private room, etc. I could not make any selection. (Update)… I certainly pushed every button on both controllers. When I get the chance I’ll redo it, but I am pretty confident I pushed the triggers and finger controls.
So Much Fun!! Really enjoyed this game and even more because it was one I could play with my best friend. Endless scares and laughs and just a really great time! Absolutely recommend this if you like haunted stuff and escape type rooms. The only downside is I want more when its over!!!
Absolutely Amazing. This game is awesome! Me and my friend played the night it released and played some of the gamemodes and had a lot of fun! Although the main thing I’d like to point out is that even though this is the first version of the game it feels like a game that has been taken to heart and developed with upmost effort. Keep up the great work!
Great Multiplayer Horror Puzzle game. Fantastic game & you can't beat the price. Love the fact that there are so many things to do. I love that there is a hint button, but wish there was an extra hint if the 1st one doesn't help. Love the jumpscares. There are just enough to keep you on edge. Can't wait to try it with some friends. Thank you for creating such a cool puzzle game that can be played with friends and one that has hours of game play.
Complete Review. Here's a thorough review after playing the first 12% (I think the first 3 chapters?)
This game is pretty decent for a free, long game. The graphics are alright, but I don't expect groundbreaking stuff here. The puzzles are well made, the story is good so far, and it's a blast to play online. The controls are nice, and there's even some mechanics I haven't seen in other horror games before.
Sadly, that's about the best stuff I can say about this game. Keep in mind, this is the very first version right now, and it will get better.
First, the game is confusing at first. I played the tutorial, and it was all fine until I got into story mode. There's a key on a table, and it explains how the backpack system works. I assumed the key is for the only other door in the room, but apparently not! This had me stumped for literally like an hour, and I restarted the game multiple times to see if I could figure out what to do. Apparently you have to go back to the lobby, but the lobby looked like a menu, so I assumed you wouldn't need to go back to it for story mode. Very confusing for a first objective.
A lot of the missions from there are fetch quests, not gonna lie. It makes you run around getting items and bringing them places, sometimes has you searching for things. Not to mention how almost every room has to load. I know it's just for optimizations, but it doesn't help when the missions almost always have you go room to room. Heck, even one of them has you search around various rooms to find 5 drawings. That took me a while to find, especially because of all the loading. I would comment on the story, but I don't think I've experienced enough to definitively review that aspect.
When it comes down to it, the only worst things is how confusing it is and all the loading. Other than that, this game has a lot of potential. I really believe this game could be big in the future with more polishing and elbow grease.
Final thoughts: If you're in this for horror, I really don't necessarily reccomend. A lot of it is cheap. Sometimes they try to scare you with random laughing or screaming, and it's really nothing. Plus, the only "jumpscare" I've gotten was a girl in a dress moving slowly toward you. Doesn't even kill you so idk what that's about. I recommend it however, if you're into light horror games. For instance, you like getting scared, but you don't want to be unable to sleep that night.
Overall, I'd say decent enough game to install. Even if you're not big on the horror aspect, there's some mini games without horror. I really could see this being a really good game in the future, but for now, 4/5 stars. Pleased enough.
I love this game! This game is great for many things, first the story mode is filled with challenges and jumpscares that had me wanting to take my headset off lol then you got all the different game modes you can play. I can honestly say I will be playing this game for quite some time! Would recommend this game to everyone!
Cool Concept. I thought this would be a fun game, especially since it has a story mode. The only problem is, how do you take items out of your inventory? It doesn't tell you how, nor is there anything to click on in your inventory to use an item you picked up. I was hoping to play the story, but I can't even use the first key you get, so I just can't. Disappointed, but nonetheless, I'm a sucker for horror games with a story so you get a few points for that. I do understand that this is the first version, but how can you skim over one of the most basic mechanics? (Edit): I tried that. Whenever I click on the door in the room with the pool table, it just makes the noise indicating it's locked, even when I have the key in my inventory. The other door takes you back to the lobby, so I still don't know what to do. I will try one more time just to be sure.

Very enjoyable but…. Me and my friend enjoy this game. It’s free, co-op, and it’s my favorite genre horror!. But… I feel it’s not scary enough, The only time I’ve gotten scared is at the jump scares I just feel as if there’s no ambience. also the puzzle where you throw purple balls at chalices is very difficult because the physics in the game are horrendous. Other than that I had a good experience with this game and I recommend you play.
