Buggy. While the physics of the game are great. It’s buggy and the menu clunky. The height and distance sliders don’t work well and moving one will reset the other. Also the settings don’t save and I find myself having to select hand preference everytime I boot up the game.
Hopefully they patch it soon or someone else publishes Carrom but better done
Faithful VR adaptation with few hiccups. The physics seem to be pretty realistic and AI offers a good challenge for a long time. It is clear that the developers love and care about carrom a lot.
Tutorial was unskippable in a weird way where you even had to wait a set amount of time (a fairly long while) for a "next" button to appear in the tutorial window. Also some of the shots in the tutorial required a lot of precision in order to be able to advance to next part of the tutorial. Even though I was fairly spot on according to the tutorial helper elements, it took a few tries to line up the shots properly.
With increased precision for hand tracking in Quest 3, I am hoping the devs will try implementing a fling mechanic that takes advantage of hand tracking as a way to play the game. Now it uses controller with that typical pool game method of first lining up the shot and then selecting the power of the shot. It is not done with motion controls, which is a shame. It's pretty much the only part of the gameplay that breaks the realism.
Aiming is too much difficult. Very happy to see a carrom game come out for Quest. There is potential for this to become worthy of five stars if the aiming mechanic is improved and if there is a way to move your perspective sideways by using the controller instead of actually walking to the left and right. The aiming arrow has to be lengthened considerably to make this less frustrating to play. Also i wish the setting control for raising the table height would work reliably; too often it fails.
Realistic Carrom board Experience in VR. Absolutely thrilled with this new VR carrom board game! The controls are a breeze - you'll be a pro after just one tutorial. I took on the AI in Single Player Hard mode and was astounded by the challenge; it's a tough opponent but incredibly fun. The avatars and environment are visually appealing and add to the immersive experience.
The multiplayer mode is a standout feature. I teamed up with a friend, and thanks to seamless voice chat, it felt like we were playing in the same room. We enjoyed an hour-long session without any lag or interruptions - pure, uninterrupted gameplay.
Although the 'join random' feature had limited availability due to the game's recent release, the potential for expanding the player community is exciting. This game is a must-try for fans of turn-based and board games. It's not just a game; it's a virtual gathering spot for friends and a challenging arena against AI.
