Great for Building Up VR Tolerance. I don't need to review how bloody brilliant this game is in its execution and immersion, particularly how finessed it is in letting you move around huge spaces. Plenty of others have done that.
What I do want to mention is what a great game it is for working on getting past VR motion sickness, which I sometimes get, like others do. You move in the environments with a jetpack that floats you in an arc from area to area as you designate. That's queasy-inducing. But the beauty of it is that you have the time and freedom to practice and adapt in these big environments, taking short little jumps if you want, or longer ones as you get to feel more comfortable. Most of the time you'll be so distracted by the coolness of it all you might not notice so much or even care if you're a little dizzy. But I think it's really cool that it gives you freedom to experiment with your comfort levels like it does.

this is genuinely one of the best vr games out there, possibly out of every game out there, not just vr.
the gameplay is intriguing, fun and is hard but not impossible, it’s scary but not enough to be an actual horror game, the story and lore is AMAZING even if you’re not interested in lore in games, you’ll still love it.
not to mention the graphics are beautiful and super realistic, i haven’t seen graphics this good on just a standalone device, absolutely amazing game and definitely is worth the price
AMAZING. With how short Red Matter is, (about 3-4 hours) you wouldn't expect a lot. Boy was I wrong. The graphics are amazing, even without quest 3 improvements and the story is great. Right now, this beats Asgards Wrath 2 and AC Nexus. It's a very polished game and buying it right now would be the best time to do so, as both games are about 50% off! (As of writing this review)
Outstanding. "Red Matter" is a standout game in the genre of sci-fi puzzle adventures, particularly noted for its immersive environment and engaging storyline. Set during a dystopian Cold War era, players find themselves on a desolate, Soviet-themed planet, tasked with uncovering dark secrets hidden within an enemy base.
The game is distinguished by its stunningly detailed graphics, which are especially impressive in VR. The realistic visuals create an eerie, atmospheric setting that immerses players fully in the game's world. The puzzles in "Red Matter" are intelligently designed and integrate seamlessly into the narrative. They challenge the player's problem-solving skills without being overly frustrating, making the progression feel rewarding and natural.
One of the most praised aspects of "Red Matter" is its storytelling. The game unfolds a compelling narrative that engages players and drives them to explore every corner of the base. The storyline is deepened by the backdrop of an alternate-history space race, adding layers of intrigue and tension.
The controls, particularly in VR, are intuitive and contribute to an immersive experience. Players can interact with the environment in a realistic manner, which adds to the game's appeal.
Overall, "Red Matter" is acclaimed for its atmospheric setting, engaging puzzles, and a well-crafted story that keeps players intrigued from start to finish. It stands as a prime example of how to effectively blend narrative and gameplay in a puzzle adventure game.
Take a Dramamine first! Superior graphics and movement so realistic that it actually made me a bit queasy! However, I loved every second. Very challenging with a surprising twist at the end made for great play 🙂
Cool. Just started playing. Threw off the headset a few times to double check it wasn’t real because the graphics were too good. IT WAS SOOOO ERIE OMG I KEPT GETTING SCARED IVER NOTHIBG! total reccomend
Wow! First time playing a game like this. So much fun. Love the puzzles. Super stuck right now but I refuse to spoil it online. Very excited to try 2 when I beat this.
Kinda awesome. I actually returned this game before due to motion sickness but decided to try it again. The controls have since been updated and motion sickness is no longer a problem. It’s actually a great game with incredible puzzles and an amazing story line. Cannot recommend this enough and will definitely be getting the second one
It Matters! This was my first puzzle game on my Quest 3. This is a challenging game! I unfortunately had to look up a clue that involved replacing batteries, as well as the secret door(trying not to give out clues). However, once I got over that hill, the rest of the game went smoothly. I love it!! There was really no end to the game as the objective changed. I kept going back to the last part to see if something would change, but sadly, it did not. However, I think it's just a cliffhanger to prepare for part 2. I already purchased part 2 and can't wait to start. Do not pass on this game. It's well worth it.
Didn't get the ending. This is an incredibly fun game and I definitely think you should play it. Just be aware that the ending might be a bit confusing. (don't worry, I won't spoil anything).
Amazing Game. Love this game, some really challenging levels and the lack of traditional hints makes it soo much better. 10/10. Can’t wait to play number 2
