Dragon Bytes Update 01
You asked and we listened! The two most common points of feedback we received from the VR community were the short length and the lack of variety.
We’re proud to announce the first of the free Dragon Bytes updates for Space Dragon, one of many we have planned to expand and improve the game in multiple ways.
Here are just a few of the things we’ve introduced: - A major overall performance boost and visual updates - New weapons for the AI enemies, including guided missiles, tracking lasers, and more! - New level events and points of interest - More bullet hell. MORE. - Updated boss fights - Additional level content leading up to the bosses
This is just the first of a series of updates coming to Space Dragon in 2023 and beyond.
Great potential!!! I really like this! The open space gives so nice freedom feeling, the dragons are cute, and the action is fun! I'd recommend this:
- Include more ambient sounds, like dragon noises and roars, digitised voices etc so you feel more immersed in the game. - You could use one of the pad buttons to create a temporary shield for each dragon, and the other one to charge a super devastating beam, that would be superb. - Would be GREAT to fly over frozen, stormy or lava planets, entering caves and exploring them a bit. That exploration of space and action mix would be trully awesome!
Great game and mechanics. I am enjoying this title, one big appeal is the unconstrained ability to move in any direction, especially when combined with combat. It's a dynamic well suited to VR, but is still properly explored by far too few games. Likewise, the mega fauna graphics look great in 3D.
Great game and look forward to following it further.
Nice short Vr Shmup. (Received free) A cool little vr game that feels like playing with space toys. Controls are pretty fluent, very clear shmup influences and the designs of everything are nice. Overall for the price and current states its a nice and quick game to pop into for an hour.
fun game, beautiful environment. This game was alot of fun and for a flying type game was very comfortable. The controls were intuitive, I only wish I could warp and shoot at the same time. The tutorial was good however I still found myself confused as to where I was supposed to go at first and what to do but once I figured it out was very fun. I think this is a good game for any age because the controls are easy to learn your hands are dragons just point them where you want to go. Hope to see some more levels in the future.
Ironman in space. Great VR experience. Nice graphics and sound. A lot of cool visuals. The Kraken is my favourite boss so far. Movement and controls work very well. I’m getting better at moving while shooting. Very neat and unique how you can warp speed around or in and out of action. Trailer video doesn’t do the game justice. Search for gameplay videos to see how good the movement is
Beautiful and fun game! Disclaimer: I got this game free from the devs to play and to give an honest review. This game is beautiful! Your hands become Dragon’s that fly through space to fight suns and bosses! The gameplay is fun and the tutorial was well done. I played on the Quest Pro and played both the AR and VR modes. Both were great but I preferred the VR mode as I do in most games! Kudos to the devs for making this uniquely fun and beautiful game!
What an experience. Was a wonderful experience. Very immersive and you are engaged from the get go. Controls are quite easy to master and really good that you can play both standing and seated. And what more fun than just a dragon than 2 dragons shooting stuff up in space. Would really recommend this game
Highly recommend. Space Dragons is an exhilarating and visually stunning gaming experience that immerses players in the captivating role of controlling a pair of hatchling space dragons. The game’s innovative move-and-warp system adds a refreshing twist to traditional gameplay mechanics, making it a standout among space-themed games. This game is a definite must play especially if you enjoy a unique experience. Great work from the team.
Impressive & Fun. I blew up a Planet with Dragons in my Kitchen and enjoyed every moment, definitely a game I'll spend a lot of time in, flying through space, shooting enemies and disabling force fields at super speeds will never get old. 100% recommended.
Unique, Visually Stunning Game. Space Dragon Unchained is an Arcade style shooter where your hands are dragon hatchlings! I really enjoyed this concept! You have to destroy planets and worlds to free the other space dragons, all of which are unique. This game was a fun experience and visually stunning. I did have trouble with the movement system at first, but started getting the hang of it after playing for a while, which makes me appreciate the unique controls. You can watch my game review on my YT channel @that-vr-girl
Bullet Hell in Space?! YES, PLEASE!!! I did not know what to think when I saw these two dragons breathing ethereal fire from their mouths, and was expecting a simple fly and shoot tartgets game.
Man. Was I wrong. This is one of the best bullet hell games in the Meta Quest store!
The flight mechanics are simple for anyone to pick up and begin playing, but the difficulty level is "R-Type" crazy (which, in my opinion, is a great thing)! Each level presents you with ships and turrets to shoot at, with levels that reminded me of some of the Star Wars Squadron 3D levels, taking your two dragons through mazes of spires and energy cores as you dodge and fight your way to uncovering the major boss battle. The current boss I am on is the Kraken (one of my favorite mythical creatures (and a tasty rum), and it is one of the most difficult bosses to defeat in the game! I have spoken to some of the team members of 3lb Games, and they agree it is one of the toughest boss battles in the game!
However, does this mean I would stop playing because it was too hard? No. This is what bullet hell-style games are all about. You have to work at trying to find the best strategy, and sometimes it takes a multitude of different times and different strategies to run through the level until you find one that works. It is really a fantastic game, and I hope to see a sequel in the future, because we really need more games like this in VR.
I am become dragon, destroyer of worlds. I love dragons, so that's already a great start :D
I haven't played a ton of games, much less VR ones, but this was a great experience! The movement was intuitive, the gameplay simple but fun, and I enjoyed it so much I finished my first playthrough in one sitting.
Also, it's really pretty! Love the way the dragons and bosses glitter as they move fluidly through space.
Dragons for Arms. I have just played space dragons, I really like that the dragons are your arms/ controller’s, the Graphics are very good. The Dragons shoot balls/ beams to kill enemies. It is very easy to pick up the controls. The music suits the game very well, Definitely worth getting, if you like single person/Dragon shooter games. You have to manoeuvre through laser beams and dodge being fired at , Destroy planets to save Creatures. Great Game

Feed the Dragons - Fun & intuitive. Space Dragon is really well designed. Although I spend time in VR, I don't consider myself a gamer. But all the movements in Space Dragon felt intuitive, almost like I just have to think about going somewhere and I head in that direction. The fire-spitting dragons that fly you around space are beautiful, with glowing colors that stand out in the dark space atmosphere. The small space rocks floating around really contributed to the sense of being present in space. There's enough of a story driving the action - must save the captive golden dragon! The music contributes to the sense of urgency without being overly intense, creating just the right energetic vibe. I liked that there was variety in the play - an attempt to weaken the defenses of the dragon containment unit and then getting inside it, where there were navigational puzzles. Zooming around space, twisting and turning to knock out the guard ships before they zap your dragons' power, make the game physically active and provide the sense of moving freely around, but not without purpose. As I played, I started thinking about how to strategize, and I'm still thinking about how to get through the defenses into the inner area where the Golden dragon is being held. Overall excellent design, fun, and engaging.
So fun and creative! As a Sci Fi nerd, I love, love that it's in a Space Station. The fire and ice dragon hands are amazing. It's fun to navigate and felt great to fly around to the music.
Dragons as arms - what else do I need?. Another great one from 3lb games! This game has friggin dragons as arms. Seriously. With a great atmosphere and wicked fun gameplay (and did I mention dragons for arms?) this game is a sleeper on the store!
Dragons flying through space! I played Space Dragon before the update and after the new update was released. They added new elements to the game to add to the gameplay. You fly through space as two dragons defeating suns and various monsters while flying through space. There are also tunnels to fly through while avoiding lasers. This game not only looks amazing but is super fun!
Good, but short and easy. Good game i enjoyed. I like the graphics, the sound and the gameplay. But the game is very short (about 30 minutes) and there are no difficulty levels - it's too easy. I played through the whole game the first time i played without loosing any life.
