Amazing game. Great game, just like the first part. Windlands 2 contains many innovations such as larger worlds, opponents, lots of battles, tasks, etc. The epic battle with the giant sand worm was an amazing experience. If you haven't bought it yet, I highly recommend starting with the first part of the game. Both parts provide an amazing experience, but if you start with the second part, you may find the first part a bit boring, since there are no fights there. I only wanted to give 4 stars because of the door bug, which unfortunately I ran into at the entrance to the "Lava World", but now I saw that others also reported it and the developers quickly responded that they would fix it, so I'm happy to give 5 stars. Anyway, despite the bug, I managed to get through the door, but I had to try at least 100 times, and I was very nervous about it, and I had to develop my VR archery skills to the max to be able to shoot the targets several times due to the detection error. I would like to point out to the developers that there is another bug in the lava world. Sometimes during big jumps, the game detects that you hit a spiky plant and immediately puts you back at the checkpoint. But this is not a big problem, because it only happened very rarely and the given section can be completed with a flatter jump. If there will be Windlands 3 (I hope), I will definitely buy it.
Broken. Fix the door glitchs and I will happily change this score to something postive. As it sits if you get the door glitch the game is impossible to complete and requires deleting your save and starting from scratch and that is a massive and fundamental flaw that should have been fixed prior to release.
Perfectly made for vr. I’ve been playing it with my brother and it’s pretty fun! The grapple mechanic is really polished and is a blast! The walking is a little slippery and the jump just feels like you float up. My only problem I see is that on about the third door that you have to shoot has some weird hit boxes. So it makes it where you shoot the blue square but it thinks that you shot a wall, so it won’t open. In short: “DOOR STUCK! DOOR STUCK!”
Great sequal, should have bonus levels. This is the perfect VR platformer and I love the movement and feel of it. I just wish there were bonus levels like in Windlands 1 that could be unlocked by finding all the puzzle pieces scattered around the world. Was a great reason to explore and investigate how to get to the most difficult places. The puzzle pieces are now useless and don’t give you anything but an achievement badge.
Broken aiming system. The game is beautiful, but it's marred by a broken aiming system. When you need to open the portals, the shots with the arrows hit the target but do not activate the LED. Sometimes it happens even if they are at close range. Embarrassing! I'm about to abandon him and it makes me very sad.
UPDATE: Last version fix the portal problem. Now game is ok!
Horrible experience. Let’s start with the good because it gets a lot worse
1. Great art style 2. Fun bosses/enemys
That’s all the good now let’s get to the bad
1. No real physics in the grapple
What I mean by that is the grapple just goes twords where you latch it, all the time… which really sucks because it makes it a lot harder to swing above or below things, to be fair you do get used to it
2. All of the first few missions are tedious
The first few missions go like this… go talk to this person 1000+ meters away and then come back kill some enemy’s talk to another person, then go back all that way to talk to the same person, then they give you a fetch quest 1000+ meters away you complete it, then you have to go back. and then all the way back where you completed the fetch quest there’s a boss that you have to kill, then you have to come all the way back to the first person 3000+ meters away. Yea tedious.
3. The doors…
I don’t know how this isn’t a bigger issue, the doors are more twords the beginning of the game but they have things on them to hit to open the door (you have to shoot them with your bow) but these boxes you need to shoot have the most egregious hit boxes ever, you have to hit perfectly in the middle which doesn’t sound that hard but it’s ridiculous, and sometimes even if you do hit in the middle it doesn’t work. It feels like it’s up to rng and it’s the most annoying thing ever.
All of this made me want to refund the game but I couldn’t for some reason, so I’m just going to tell you to stay away unless you want to risk your money.
NOT A CO-OP GAME! I purchased this for my daughter, so she could play with my nephew. We bought it and set them up on the same network. They we're both on an oculus. We tried for over an hour to get them connected, but were never able to. We tried everything we could think of. We let each of them host and attempt to join. We had them try to start together and tried letting one get going and having the other join. It seems like maybe it's a feature that is still in development, but that is not how the marketing presented things. I tried to contact the company about the issue, but when I hadn't heard from them after 4 or 5 days, I messaged them again. That was a couple of days ago. They still have not so much as e-mailed me to say sorry. I wanted to be reasonable, and I understand that sometimes things need tweaking in games. All that got me was a closed return window, and a game I no longer want. I can't speak to the gameplay, really. It might be great. However, I bought this game for one reason, and it failed miserably.
I quit Windlands 2 for Single Player! Not easy to open the door within the portal 2 cavern on Easy Mode - Single Player without players helping me within Multiplayer Mode. :( I have Autism, which makes it hard to respond fast.
Favorite but has a bug. I absolutely love this game. Had it on my HTC but lost it when I switched to Quest. Recently bought Quest 3 and excited to find Windlands2 available. Still love it but it has bugs now. Try to start a custom game and the whole menu board disappears! Can't do anything but force close the game.
Is ok just short with not lot to do. So starting with good: swing mechanics and combat is fantastic and challenging the voice acting is nice and sometimes the world feel big bad: story is anticlimactic and short the three world is empty there is no side mission to do or enemy to destroy maybe collecting and music is not varied and its ok so if you have can get it for cheap than maybe get it i hope they going to add some content until then 3/5
