• Crashilization never buy a Playside game.
  Four months since release, new update.There is still an issue where if you try to click on the quesionmark to get more info about what a critical and permanent choice does it will click the button for you instead. So game still not playable. :(Two months have passed since the last update and not a word about any plans to fix this mess. I'm going to learn from this and never do the stupid mistake of buying a playside studio game.They now released an update and the game still crashes when opening. Even more disappointed.Like so many others I started to have the problem where the game does not even start any more. Why did they publish such a broken game? Why has 2K started to publish junk? I have played every civ game since civ 1 with 4 colors and 320 x 200 graphics. Thousands of hours. I never expected to see a civilisation game on this shape. I really wanted to like it like all the other games on the series but this was rushed out far from complete.The UI is extremely clumsy, i constantly have to move my arms in uncomfortable positions to read the text. There are placeholder strings instead of names of objects. They have a huge button with choices that can not be undone and then to figure out what the choice actually does you have to click on a very small question mark in the upper right corner. Problem is that it's very easy to accidentally click the big button instead and make a choice when you really wanted to know what your choices wre..The game also only has one very repetitive song that plays over and over again which is very annoying.Someone should feel pretty embarrassed for releasing a game in this state. It is not finished. Be aware that if you buy this game you purchase the right to be part of a beta test but as opposite to normal beta tests, there is no communication with the developers on discord etc.I wonder if they intend to fix these things at all it if they just dumped the game to cut their losses?

• I love Civ.
  I am 31 years old. This is the only game I play like twice a year. This VR version is the start of something special. I imagine this franchise doing amazing things in the updates and new versions to come. Playing this for 10 minutes made me feel good to be alive at a time where we can enjoy the things we love in full immersion. I don’t think it’s only going to be good for novelty. There is sometime really special here.

• Ooof.
  I want so much to enjoy this. I want to pay $60 and I want to love this game as much as I love the flat version on my Xbox. But this isn’t it. It’s frustrating to move around, the graphics aren’t that good, the interface feels off, the yields look ugly as do a lot of the other in game assets. It’s not even an issue that like the resolution isn’t good or the frame rate, it’s just ugly where it shouldn’t be. The cities aren’t good looking, the units aren’t good looking, the map isn’t good looking. Ugh. I’m gutted because civ is my favorite franchise of all time. I have thousands upon thousands of hours into this franchise, and my quest is my favorite way to play right now. I’m afraid I’m going to request a refund and hope they can improve upon this, because it’s just not pleasurable…I have no desire whatsoever to continue playing this version.

• Please fix the \"Narrative Choice\" stuck.
  I was enjoying the game despite its limitations but keep getting blocked and unable to proceed by the Narrative Choice bug. This is where it says Press Y to select a Narrative Choice but pressing Y does nothing. Previously Id been able to work around it by saving and reloading but now even that isn't working. Even going back a few saves and rolling forward again. So it looks like the 20-30 hours Ive invested in this run will have to be abandoned. That's pretty frustrating and game breaking so I would recommend anyone else hold off buying until they fix this. Ill try again if I see another patch released and update my review if I can continue with that broken game.

• TEMPORARY FIX FOR STARTUP CRASH.
  If Civilization VII keeps crashing at startup and there’s no support available yet, this workaround might help:Steps:1. Go to General Settings > Storage on your headset.2. Locate Civilization VII in the list.3. Tap the data icon (to the left of the uninstall bin) and delete the game data.This will erase your save progress, but it should allow the game to launch without crashing.Please upvote this post so more people can see it.And 2K , please fix the game!As a developer who’s been working on VR since 2016— as a huge fan of both VR and the Civilization franchise—I believe this game has real potential in VR. It just needs some serious tweaking to deliver a smoother VR experience. I'm personally willing to help if needed.
