Fun Arkanoid-style game but in VR. This game had no reveiws when I bought it, but I'm a sucker for Breakout/Arkanoid type games so I had to give it a shot. Gravity Pro is worth the price of admission. It took me a few rounds to adjust to using the paddles, not because of any controls issues, but because my first instinct was to smash the ball around in hopes that it would hit the target. But really, a subtle touch on the paddles is needed in order to finesse some of the more difficult or accurate shots. Good variety in level types, great sounds (many reminiscent of high end drum machines), and the graphics are nice. If you're into the old brick smashing games, this one doesn't disappoint. Lots of options for controls as well, looks like you can use VR controllers, keyboard, or other peripherals that it detects through your computer.
This is actually quite good! Very relaxing experience. I like that I can use my own music. Just bouncing the ball is meditative, when you are someone like me that sort of needs some action to be meditative. :).
Poor controls and bad gameplay. Do you like waiting for a ball to reappear? Do you prefer luck-based games over skill? Then this might be for you, but it wasn't for me.
The paddles interact with the environment in a physical way - that sounds good, but in reality, it just takes away any chance for precision controls. It takes away all the fun and adds a lot of frustration.
There is too much wrong with the controls to put into a few sentences and it feels like one plays an early alpha. Especially dislike that you do not have direct control.
The level setups (and I only played the easy beginner ones) are already really frustrating where you spend a lot of time waiting for a ball you have very little control over to hit that one block you need to finish.
Some levels even allow your ball to land on a platform taking away any means of control until it has lost all momentum and then is respawned after a short while. But the loss of momentum can take quite a bit.
And the sides are not flat walls - which not only makes stuff less predictable, it also makes things a lot less enjoyable. If there were some real gain in that I would approve, but it was just another point of annoyance to me.
I am keeping the game because it was just 4€, at the full price I would have returned it. But at the current price, I am going to see where the dev takes it, hoping enough aspects get fixed/remade so it turns into a fun game!
