The video player just works. The UI is very easy to understand, with easy to recognize icons if you have used an video player app in the past.
Any video I had in my storage was able to be player. But one thing to point out is that this player uses Windows codecs, so if you don't have it installed, the video won't be able to be played. Best way to try if a video works on your machine is to use the default Media Player (Windows 10 default, not the classic version) to watch the video, if it can be watched it should work here. When I first ran a video I had to go to the settings and use the settings to work around since it had some settings that hid the image when playing a 2D video but after that it just worked as I expected. By default I had to set the VR default settings but I only did it once and I haven't had to do it since. For 3D videos, like Avatar this just works.
The SMB connection just works, as in plug an play works, the main difference with the default viewer is that it doesn't generate preview thumbnails, but I have never seen any file manager do so from a machine connected via SMB so I won't rate it lower or anything. All I can say is that it connects and I am able to watch any videos, be it 3D, 2D videos (.mp4, .mkv etc) and VR videos (basically porn lol)
In my opinion this player rocks!!! It will be my default player when watching 3D videos and VR videos on the Quest 3.
Best I have found. I have downloaded and tried every free moive player I can find and none of them look or feel as polished as this player. I just got a new box and downloaded this app first thing.
Great VR Video Player. Simple and Free. I've been using this app for years and never had any issues. It's much simpler to use than apps like Whirligig without skimping on options and settings. This app is basically a free version of SkyBoxVR without the cozy fireplace. What's not to like?
Does not longer work, do not install. After update 2.20 this program is no longer work. When you start it it just keeps spinning with a boks on the screen welcoming you. There is no way to stop rotation or click the box. So essential this is no longer any useable program.

Used to love the app. This has been the best app to watch movies except the the updates break everthing that make it great. The app used work without long delays and lock-ups. Now the app has lock-ups and inside the app watching a moving functions dont'w work. Until this is fixed I cannot use the app any longer ( and I miss the old app). Now I use DEO VR....This is reliable, but not as many good features. FYI: I would have gladly paid for this video player before the last update so long as it was self-updating.
Some VR video cannot be played on PC. It's very strange that the quest 2 version works pretty fine and could play all of the VR videos but when it comes to the PC version it just didn't work. I could play those VR video in my google chrome which means I did have the codec for VR videos
Amazing app, but ADD THESE! to be better. Definitley bumping this to a 5 star rating if you bring back the pin icon button to add my files to pinned. the icon isnt there any more. Also, may you extend the zoom and height amount for both bars please? The current amount you've given is us pretty limited on both ends of the stick. That aside everything else is perfect, especially how well we can seamlessly run 8k files without issues. You're better than deo vr for sure!
New update totally sucks. After the latest and not so greatest update, a lot of things are missing. Half the sites I used to view now say "error loading". Its more difficult now to explore as only one site can be loaded at a time. Please gives us the previous version back. Playa, you just plain suck now.
