A must have game for VR!! I've always liked rhythm games and this one stands out as one of the best! Excellent songs & music packs along with a tonne of custom songs that make you want to come back and beat your high scores. Can't recommend enough.
Only played for an hour, really Good. I bought this cause of the new Lindsey Sterling Pack. No regrets! Tons of fun, I even like Synth rider more than Beat saber, not that Beat saber is bad.
This game is life! Since I got this game I have not stopped playing it.. this game needs to be recognized and appreciated as much as beat Saber. A must own for quest and pc vr gamers.
Resource hog. Nice idea, but screwed by bad execution. Even with a decent PC you'll run into frequent performance issues. Looks like developers are lerning on this one how to create games. Additionally most of OST maps are rather bad quality.
This game alone is worth having VR for. I play this game every single day, and have since I bought it, and I have lost almost 30lbs while also having a ton of fun. No other rhythm game is as satisfying to master. High end play is plenty competitive with a worldwide leaderboard and new tracks coming out regularly. Caravan Palace DLC blew me away, and I'm even more impressed by the newest Muse pack. Thank you devs. Special shoutout to whoever programed the movements for the song Eden, that track on master makes my soul happy.
Great upper body cardio! I play this game 90% of the time I'm wearing my oculus. It's a great upper body workout and it's just plain fun.
Now if I could just stop messing up my shoulders! 😳👍
*p.s. this app tends to put a heavy strain on the upper back, neck, and shoulder areas, requires heavy ballistic movements with some of the more difficult stages*
Beat Saber eat your heart out! This is probably the most polished VR rhythm game out there. It also has a healthy number of different play modes, such as rhythm (accuracy) versus force (hit velocity), spin mode (90 up to 360 + vertical modes), and multiplayer power-ups (which is like a certain "kart" based multiplayer), but what I really love most about this game is the community. The devs are very receptive and are always coming out with new song packs and happy to answer questions in the Discord. If you haven't checked out the Saturday Synth Fever community sessions hosted by HeyFalcon_ or The Sunday Sessions, it's a great way to get into the game.
Best music rhytm fitness game. This is the best 100 times better than beat saber. It is fun and easy to learn. It puts a smile on my face and is a hefty workout! You can customize it to youre liking and best of all CUSTOM SONGS. O and it is cross_buy which is awesome. Did I say I like this already!.. Try it!

flippin epic!!!! i absolutly love this game! best workout of my life to some amazing songs that i cant get enough of! i hands down reccomend this over everything i've ever played ever. friggin dope, you gotta get in and join the amazing community of editors and riders. absolutly lovely people. yes yes yes all day
Fantasic for fitness. Use this for cardio fitness, incredible soundtrack, great visuals, smooth and a great workout on the harder levels once you learn how to beat them!
Amazing Game ! I got VR just this year for first time, and i was always dreaming about beat saber but turned out that i really suck at it and not enjoying that at all, so instead i spent some time looking for other games and then Synth Riders happened .. this game along with Pistol Whip are my most favorite VR games ! There is no point of shower if you want to go back to play because you will be sweating alot along with dancing to amazing tracks ! .. definitely recommending to lovers of good music & people who loves to swing booty (works very well also as cardio for me a bigger guy)
My favourite.... Got myself a Oculus Rift S not too long ago and, of course I installed my first rhythm game. It wasn't Synth Raider... eventually I came across it (Synth Raider) and thought I'd give it a try. It turned out to be my favourite game by far. Of course it has some things that could be improved but the gameplay is awesome!! 5 out of 5 stars for me!!
New update needs a 6th Star. The best rhythm game now even better! For me the biggest difference and best part of Synth Riders is you just need to touch the orb with the correct hand/combinations of hands. How you get there is up to you. Because it is so simple it is accesible to pretty much everyone. Easy levels have little movement or crossing your hands difficult levels will require full body movements to the rythm to get where you need to be. If you know anyone with a VR headset strap in for some multiplayer battle fun. It's like if Mario Kart was a rhythm game and instead of blue shells there were prismatic notes (turn that off unless you want to lose immediatley) This is the only VR game I have played where you feel like you are actually doing something cool based on your movements. Just don't get a video of yourself because you really don't look cool at all...
SR proposes a lot of challenges and ways to play the songs. It’s also community friendly, no mods are needed to instal custom songs for ex. The UI and UX are also cool, and I love the "game over" voice which reminds me of my old games. But something is missing...
The lack of flow,
Even if BS fails at graphic, interface, community implementation, univer… Everything was put aside for something very important in a musical game : the flow. It is easy to put legs in some very hard tracks, be engaged and know what is coming (and fail). I forget my level, and just follow the rhythm like it was inside me. The blocks just come, and I cut them like it was natural, like I was is the game. Everything is made for this moment.
I think SR fails at it because of :
1 - The juiciness ! Yet, everything is static, the moving platform is not helping tho. In BS the blocks come at you, jump when they appear, and shatter into pieces when you cut them. In Pistol Whip the world makes you visually feel the beat. BS is aggressive, the bass is louder, the lights blink around you to make me feel the music. Aggressivity helps you to be in the present. 2 - The size of the orbs. The ones in your hands are very big and block the view, the ones you have to smash and tiny. 3 - The glow is disturbing and doesn’t help to perceive the deph and make everything far, blury. 4 - The big and huge stages, very beautiful can’t step up against a poor looking corridor. It’s hard to stay focused when you can see cassettes in the sky, a big head moving like you, pyramids… And there is no floor, hard to catch the deph without any references.
SR is potentially great and is for the first BS competitor. And I agree with MaschineBoy. The game has to be reworked with the flow in mind. Maybe more simple, more rough.
I still recommend this game if you don’t like BS, already have BS, want another original musical experience. Your whole body is actually involved in the gameplay.
Good casual game. Synth Riders is a more casual game than it's competitors. It's more a game you play while listening to music than move to the music. It generally allows you to play without twisting yourself in knots or working to hard. That said it is fun and very well presented, global score boards along with custom music make this the full package, not to mention they have added a multiplayer mode. I have it and play it, more for relaxing than working out. It's not a expensive game and fully repays you for the money spent, plus it just keeps on getting better with each update. I shall buy the DLC for this one.
