6-Degree-of-Freedom (6DoF), or "Volumetric Video", is an emerging technology for capturing actual 3D spaces in photos and video, recently shown publicly in tech demos such as Adobe's Project Sidewinder and Facebook's x24 camera system. Pseudoscience 6DoF Viewer is the only app that allows you to load your own equirectangular 360° photos and videos with depth maps, and recreate them in VR.
With Pseudoscience 6DoF Viewer, you can move around INSIDE your media. View as a point cloud, or adjust the lighting, scale, position, and much more.
-- To load your own photos and videos, just put them in the "6DoF" directory in your Documents Folder.
Head over to reddit.com/r/6DoF to download 6DoF videos, and to find out how to make your own!
Fresh install, crashes on start up. Title says all you need to know, sadly. Update: Found out it actually gets silently chocked to [demonetized] by my Antivirus. I am now suspicous why a Videoplayer would get stopped by an Antivirus.
Worth getting for the music video. This is an interesting idea for creating and experiencing VR experiences. I'm not sure I've completely got the hang of it, but I'll probably use it more if more content becomes available. I'd recommend downloading anyway just because the "In VR" song is really funny!
Buggy and horrible. As far as I can tell this will only play single-camera 6DOF stuff so three of the degrees of freedom are pointless as you just get a load of visual noise if you move from the centre. This in mind, the results are worse in terms of visual quality and stability than a plain old stereoscopic 360 degree video. On top of that the app is somewhat buggy; even the tutorial doesn't work properly as it's missing a step (it's telling you to press a button, but you actually need to press a different button first), and the UI doesn't always respond to inputs requiring several attempts to get it to do what you want. You're just adding a broken experience on top of a terrible one, and the whole thing is a waste of space; would rate 0 (or even negative) stars if I could!
STOP! THE! MUSIC! I got as far as a band blasting the most unbearable and terrible attempt at a song I've heard into my ears and could get no further. I kept trying buttons, mainly in the terrible noise would end, but nothing happened. In the end I had to abandon my headset and force close the app. One of my worst experiences in VR.
The future of VR film! It's a fully functional 6dof video player. Not only is free but it's also got a lot of features like depth control, scaling, point cloud visualization, and more.
NOTE: 6dof film is at the stage of VR in the 90s. It's SUPER early days. There is not much content available, and the available content isn't going to be a great "fun" experience. That being said, if you can look past its current limitations, you might catch a glimpse of the future.
Does not work. Going through tutorial, get to using controllers, will not move to "setting" using thumbstick. Cannot go any farther. Also, did nor create a folder in documents during install to add photos. Maybe doing something wrong, but stuck. Installed, remover, re-installed. Same issue.
Found the problem... had another game controller plugged in; as soon as I removed it, all touch controllers worked.
wow. i watched that intel volumetric video but i think its a different technique is it? their method was so heavy they said each frame is 4 gigabytes .ur method is better i think but it needs a lot of work but seems doable .plz tell me is it doable ?the result is crap right now but it seems that its the right path to volumetric video.do u have discord channel?

いくつかのボリューミーなビデオ作品。 少し弱いですが、いいサンプルになりました。

Some volumetric video stuff. It's a little weak, but was a nice sample.
