Delve into a Roman camp and see the wooden fortifications, the training sites, the main weapons used by the legionaries and visit one of their tents. Visit a Roman market, where the most varied food and basic necessities were obtained. Learn about the Roman domes and their different rooms, both those for external visits, "fauces", peristyle and "tablinum", as well as the most intimate and those dedicated to service, such as the kitchen, the triclinium and the cubicle. Take a walk through one of its streets and the tabernae, where the romans had their food and drinks, bought bread and flour in the bakery, and other utensils and goods in the various stores. Spend some time in the hot springs, and enjoy its different rooms, with pools of cold, warm or hot water.
Beautiful and relaxing experience. This is precisely what I was looking for in order to feel like I am going back in time to explore ancient Rome. With this app, you get to experience an upper class Roman home, a bath house, some shops, a military camp, and a marketplace. Each of these is presented in exquisite detail along with icons placed throughout that bring up a tablet, which provide some interesting historical facts. Movement is accomplished by using one touch controller trigger to see the teleport spots and then pressing the trigger again to teleport. Of course, if you have the room you can walk around on your own in these areas. I thought the music and sound effects were also well done and contribute to the atmosphere very well. I really enjoy this app as a relaxing and educational experience. Glad I took a chance on this one, seeing as there are no reviews so far.
Relaxing and informative. I put off buying this because of the price, but in the end Im glad I forked out for it. I played it on Quest 2 in roomscale mode. Roomscale lets you walk around various roman settings on foot (or using teleport) and absorb information about items around you. Has a room like the roman domus, and several other places to visit. I found it relaxing and informative.
Amazing! Takes me back to Pompeii. I love ancient Rome and this was really an exciting experience for me! It takes me back to the time when I went to Pompeii, and/or the Getty Villa. Amazing job to the makers of this!
I know this is in beta apparently (couldn't tell — seems pretty polished to me overall!), but I have a few suggestions: • Would be nice to know more definitively what my selected teleport spot is. Sometimes it's hard to navigate. • The English blurbs are fascinating! I did notice that sometimes it seems like it's not written by a native speaker — about 10% of the grammar felt a little strange, like maybe translated from Spanish, and there were spelling errors at a rate of about 10%. • The animation when you close a blurb / information box is a little clunky. It's oddly slow — I'd expect it to be snappier. • The graphics are awesome already! (4.5/5) However I'd love to see even more detailed graphics to even further immerse me. Then again, that's probably always going to be the case, no matter how detailed it is ;)
I'd love to see more of this kind of content in VR!
