Oculus Rex built First Contact, and is the team that brought you Dreamdeck, Farlands, Prologue and the original Toybox demo. We drew from the inspiration of the 80s: A magical decade when computers and game consoles moved from science fiction to household items and everything seemed possible.

Successor to my late Oculus Home. I am a Japanese who lost my Oculus Home and spent a year feeling the loss of it. Recently, when I looked back at the Oculus Home video recording from that time, I remembered that I had placed this Oculus First Contact robot figure in the center of my Oculus Home desk, and I launched this app for the first time in a long time. When I launched the app, that robot was waiting for me in the camper, as well as some furniture that I could see in Oculus Home.
After spending some time interacting with the robot for the first time in a long time, putting butterflies on my fingers, and flying rockets, I inserted the golden floppy disk that the robot handed me. And Oculus First Contact became Faces, then Edges, then Vertecies, then the robot waved and disappeared as a beautiful dot.
The Oculus Home was supposed to be a place where users could seamlessly return to Oculus Home, but now that Oculus Home is gone, the camper, the robot, and Oculus Home are all illusions now, and I realize that they are not real. I was made to realize that the world of campervans, robots, and Oculus Home are now all illusions and not real.
I think I will go back to that camper again. Thank God this app is still around when Oculus Home is gone. And I hope there are others out there who feel the same way I do.
Great first experience for VR beginners. If you have a parent, grandparent, or non-gamer that wants to give VR a shot, this is a great way for them to see what its about. There's no movement, no potential for motion sickness, no jumpscares, and it moves at their pace with no stress. It's also just a fun and charming experience. I keep this installed on the off chance that someone new will want to give it a try and I think they'll need a little time to get up to speed.
Perfect for the first steps. A very sweet and simple VR experience. Only takes about 20 minutes, but it's perfect to make your first steps in VR or to present VR to friends. And the robot is the sweetest thing since Wall E ^^
Perfect VR Experience. This was a perfect opening game to try with your headset for the first time. This was so much fun for myself and the kids. Makes you think of the possibilities that is VR. Wish it was a little longer.

A very endearing introduction to VR. This is my very first VR headset that I purchased, and I did not know what to expect. This app was a ton of fun, and the immersion that it provided was beyond impressive. I find myself wishing it was a little more than a tech demo and wanting to go back. I recommend it to anyone who has an Oculus Headset.

Game is terrible because my Original Oculus Rift is broken. Cable broke & Oculus support will not replace or even sell me a headset cable. Now I have a $500 paper weight!!!

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! When I first got my VR headset it took me to this game and it was the BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY VR LIFE! If your new to vr I cant stress this enough PLAY IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Have a great VR Experience :)
