Edge of Nowhere is a third-person VR adventure from acclaimed independent developer Insomniac Games. Victor Howard is on a journey to find his fiancée, Ava Thorne, who is part of a lost expedition in Antarctica. His rescue mission takes a sudden turn as he ventures deeper into a dark monstrous world where reality warps and twists around him. Desperate to find the one he loves, Victor must encounter disturbing monsters and scale looming ice walls as he descends further into madness. In Edge of Nowhere, nothing is what it seems and the unexpected lurks from all sides.
“You’re not simply playing an Uncharted or Tomb Raider game. You’re inside of one.” -Kotaku
"I honestly can't praise this game enough. I absolutely loved it. From the compelling story to the tense gameplay to the beautiful environments, everything came together to make a truly spectacular experience." -Road to VR
An overlooked classic. I decided to play back through this on the Quest Pro to try out the local dimming, and I'd forgotten just how enjoyable this game is. The graphics don't quite hold up to modern standards, but the art design is strong enough that the game looks gorgeous. The enemies, in particular, are just as horrifying as anything you'd see in a modern game.
The gameplay itself is a good mix of platforming-style climbing sections with stealth interludes, all wrapped up in one of the best Lovecraft-inspired stories in gaming in recent memories. The game can be quite challenging at higher difficulties, and it becomes important (and rewarding!) to use the various systems of the Eldritch ecosystem to effectively and safely make your way through.
A can't miss for fans of Lovecraftian horror or 3rd-person VR games in general.
A quality and fun experience but . . . There is basically zero replayability, so you'll go through the game probably one time only and never play it again. And the game only lasts a handful of hours too, which makes is hard to recommend unless you have the cash to spare.
The addition of some branching paths, some hidden areas and secrets to find, and maybe even some bonus modes and stuff for completing sections in fast times or something like that would have been very much welcome.
If, however, you're fine with spending the money on a one-play experience then I'd actually recommend it; it's actually one of the more polished and engaging VR games I've played. But if you want to get good value for your money, and have VR experiences that you will return to time and time again and ultimately get many, many hours of fun from, even if the main campaign only happens to be a handful of hours long, then I woulnd't recomment this game.
But don't get me wrong: It's polished, intersting/engaging, and fun--if you think of it like an expensive extended playable movie experience or something like that.
Edit: One thing I would add now is that I think the controls could also be improved with a bit of hindsight. They're not bad, but I think they could be made even more intuitive and satisfying, which I think would only serve to make the game even better.

Hidden gem! Did not write a review back when i played it years ago but it deserves some attention. Really atmospheric horror story. Sit back with your controller and enjoy! Give it a try even in 2023.
A unique VR experience. Was unsure what playing 3rd person in VR would be like, but it's still so immersive and really enjoyable. Amazing game and storyline!

素晴らしいゲームだ。 雰囲気もいいし、Air Linkでスムーズに動きます。

Awesome game. Great atmosphere, runs smoothly over Air Link.
Great game, cozy seated VR experience! I have played this back when it released, just noticed I never wrote a review or gave a rating. 5* all the way, great story, nice visuals, I still highly recommend it. This is the closest thing to Tomb Raider or Uncharted you can get in VR, there should be more third person seated VR games.
Really Enjoyed It. For 25 percent off use link: tivee.bio.link
This is a great third person game that can be played sitting back on a couch with a gamepad. Loved the story, atmoshphere and sound. I suggest using the oculus debug tool to super sample the game to 1.4 or higher (pixels per display) as it seems to be undersampled if left default and looks blurry.

This game is a trip! Pretty freaky at times and intriguing story. It’s 3rd person view which is interesting in be however it works quite well in this particular title and I don’t think first person would be better. Decently long game and as time goes on you start to realism just how deep down the rabbit hole you’ve gone
Good Early VR Game. Although this was one of the earlier oculus VR games, it is unique in that it can be played seated with an xbox controller. I enjoyed my time with it and it took about 4 hours to complete. It still felt like a full game but I would not go back to it. The graphics were nice, gameplay and story were interesting enough to keep me playing. I played with Quest 2 using airlink, had to turn up supersampling to 1.5 using oculus tray tool to get it looking good. Overall I would recommend it on sale or with a voucher for around $10 or less.
One of the best VR games. This is a truly great game. Even if it wasn't in VR, I think I would enjoy it. But being in VR makes it even better. The graphics are great, the performance is perfect, the story is interesting, and the world is exciting. VR needs more of these kinds of games!
Good Story with decent gameplay. Intresting game definetly worth to check it. I never run to any kind of problems and especially sickness from vr. It has something that it makes you wonder if any of this is even real on this journy you will get in to it. It was fun and scary i give it 8/10
