Take Reality Browser anywhere. Runs entirely on the Quest - no PC necessary.
• Put YouTube on your wall and scale it to the size of a cinema screen. • Place your twitter feed on your desk • Watch videos on the ceiling • Keep your chats, forums and discussions at your finger tips.
We see a future where displays appear out of thin air and magically hover anywhere we desire, where we can fill rooms with virtual objects that are indiscernible from the real world and a single space offers infinite possibilities.
OK, so we’re not there yet but Reality Browser is our first step on an exciting journey. We do hope you’ll join us!
We all need a bit of support and encouragement at times. If you like what you see then tell us about it!
PLEASE ADD NETFLIX SUPPORT. This browser is fast and well made, but could you PLEASE add support for Netflix. It says error when I try to play a Netflix video. I’ve been trying to find a way to stream Netflix from my standalone quest 2 other than the official Netflix app that only streams in sd. PLEASE do this soon! Please read!
Some advice. As it is easy for us to change the direction of the window, it will be useful if we can change the aspect ratio, or switch between horizon view and vertial view. And the surrouding view is also an essential founction.
Thank the Lord and Amen! 🤣. I actually own a Chromebook and to my Surprise just realized that I can't use any of the virtual desktops that includes horizon workrooms which I had already had set up because they are strictly windows and Apple OS (Don't even get me started on the loss of revenue All those students were working from home really high school students not loving horizon work rooms together with their friends?). I just recently started a new job for a non-profit where I don't have a work laptop so I'm working from a Chromebook and I like using my virtual office on my quest. So thank you.
Some things that I'd love to see: copy button in the URL bar, larger area I guess for the hidden or unhidden keyboard view? For me it seems super precise especially when you're on the edge trying to copy and paste something out of the browser it'll hide and unhide constantly... I don't think there's enough leeway there. Fields don't do well in this browser either. For instance anything in a pop-up window that has a form that has dropdown fields will not open. Or a dropdown window with a field...for instance find your store ZIP code you can't type in it; won't allow you to. Just little simple things that would make life easier. But thank you very much I really needed something like this and I'm really glad that I accidentally just happened to run across it!
WOW. Just WOW. Your APP is amazing ! Congrats ! To me, i'm sure you are the future of display What is great : - before installing this, i was living in the past ;) - fluid, smooth, works very well even with lots of windows - memorise all your setup and the opened tabs once you launch the app again - presence of essential options : bookmarks, private browser
Suggestions, your APP could be even better with this, and i hope you will update) :
- If you add a very large image and you are feets away, the dot pointer is too small, i often barely see it. You should add a more visible pointer or adapt size for very large or far screens - could be great to let people access to an adblocker into your browser because ads are pain. Netflix displays an error. - you should, just like ALTSPACE editor, allow user to "throw" the window by holding joystick up. I put image on my roof, but todo that, i had to climb on my bed. should be nicer to be able to drag the window far away with stick, just like your option of getting the image bigger or smaller, but for the ditance - i suggest you to add a "lock" option, in order to avoid mistake by grabbing a window accidentally, and be force to climb on your bed again HAHA - It could be nice to be able to change the window format by manipulating an angle option, for example to add a window in portrait for a wall poster ! - in the same principle, could be amazing if the webpage itself could rotate inside a portrait windows, a bit like the gyroscopic function on a smartphone that change the webpage orientation - just like in XSoverlay, maybe you can add an opacity function to make even more futuristic windows ! and create a window not even related to a standalone browser, but also the function to get your full PC screen(s). - you should add a "several setup saving systems". Could be nice to bind entire displays and and change it in a panel menu. i had other things to say but the review page does not allow more text. You are great, bravo bravo bravo
The Best Browser. This is the perfect implementation of a VR web browser. Others have the windows snap to rigid presets, only letting you adjust the size. But in this case, the ability to just grab a window and drop it wherever you need in 3D space, is brilliant. And the window is mirrored on the reverse side, so if you're walking around in passthrough, you can still glance over and see the video. Like the TVs in Detroit: Become Human.
I highly recommend turning off your Guardian in the Developer settings while you use this app, as you can probably already see everything around you, and bringing YouTube or Reddit on a giant screen around the house is lots of fun. (Just don't forget to turn the Guardian back on before you play some Beat saber!)
I only have a few feature requests/suggestions: 1. A wrist-"mounted" UI, or window snap location, could be really useful. Won't have to grip the window, and it'd be easier to glance at.
2. The ability to adjust the brightness of the passthrough background would relieve a lot of eye strain during long time use. Perhaps a filter over it that can adjust opacity?
3. The ability to add a curve to the windows, and control the aspect ratio. This would really open up a lot of options, from having a 16:9 side screen for long articles or chat clients, to viewing videos in a more immersive manner. The curve could even be set to track, or not, the headset to remain centered on the viewer.
I'm sure you've all considered these and implementing them would be more tricky than one would think, but I would love if these features were at least on the board for consideration in future updates.
This browser is great but.... I will only mention the cons because every other thing is great there is no need to mention the pro
Major con: Pull and push using thumbstick is still is needed because it enables you to see if you need to paste on the wall correctly especially if it's a big tab, I love the free hand movement style but it's only good if you are using a small size tab it's a big problem if tab is large.
Minor con: Please provide support for netflix, for some reason it doesn't stream for me.
GREAT JOB developer. If you fix the Major bad above it is automatically a 5 star for me.

Yes! This is the way! I've been trying all the productivity apps looking for this type of experience where you can essentially place virtual monitors in your actual space in AR and move around. Congrats on how you've accomplished and optimized a very promising app! I was starting to assume that the hardware just wasn't yet up to the challenge for this type of experience, but this performs much better for me than using native apps in passthrough mode on Quest 2. Seriously like magic.
Bugs: - If I walk away from a browser, then return, it will sometimes be all white, and I have to recreate it. - I can't seem to hit web servers on my LAN. Not sure if it's a DNS issue or some thing about how the address bar functions.
Post-reply edit: Wow, impressive fast work! This app is really cool. So forward-looking and the kind of thing that gets me excited about MR. I've also been really impressed with Custom Home Mapper on sidequest. It suddenly doesn't feel that far off that we could move around these fantasy versions of our homes with all of our apps stationed in various spots.

Total game changer. This is already my favorite VR app, hands down, no contest. I mean, I love VR animations and a good game of chess in a virtual Escher, etc., but this? It's exactly what I needed, and I believe what many of us have been imagining and desperately hoping for in VR. To be able to easily place browser windows all around the house, resize them, even walk straight through them to get to the next... absolutely exceptional development. At one point I had 14 windows open, in 4 different rooms and lining the hallways. Ok, yeah I crashed a couple windows a couple of times, but it's a beta and I was really stomping on it hard. Because it was awesome! I was in hog heaven, a place I'd started to think was maybe just mythical. I was so impressed I really couldn't have cared less that you haven't had the chance to add more expanded features. Frankly, I can do without most of them anyway. Browsers have grown out of control, the cruft just drags things down. If I had to pin a blue ribbon on a browser for 'most robust' it wouldn't be one with a warehouse worth of barely functional add-ons and tacky Hollywood themes de juer. It'd be the one that lets me put my FB and Insta feeds in the bathroom, my recipes in the kitchen, my maps and weather windows in the hallway by the front door, my furnace repair resources on the wall right beside the furnace, and my enormous streaming media window where the tv used to be before I found this most excellent browser.
Nice, but... Nice to be able to place the windows where you want, great idea, but there are some things that I think should be improved:
1. If I want to close a single window, how do I do it? 2. Why is the keyboard not compliant with the Oculus standard? 3. There is a general performance drop when I open YouTube in one window and there are 2 other windows open, FPS drops 4. Occasionally a window becomes unresponsive and stays blank. 5. I always see the Quest 2 controllers overlay when I'm using the Quest Pro
How to close a browser window? and kb?. I tried all buttons and none of them can close a browser window. Is this a bug of the new version? Also I have connected a hardware logitech keyboard to Quest 2 and it worked fine. But the Reality Browser did not register any input from the keyboard. Is this a bug or non supported feature?
The greatest thing happening in VR rn. It was really weird for something like this to not exist when you think about how long browsing in VR is a thing. This has infinite possibilities and needs horrendous amounts of afford to maximize the possibilities which probably isn't possible to achieve without making it open source and letting all the VR enthusiast around the world do their things. I just used it for an hour and I already saw tons of things to improve which you probably already aware of but I'm still gonna write just in case you missed some.
-Addons are a must, especially the primary ones Firefox Reality had. Although they definitely didn't have enough as well. -Resize and copy shortcuts should also be on the right controller for one handed use. Or better, just make all the shortcuts customizable. -Keyboard should be full size (with numpad) as long as the screen above the keyboard is larger than it. Also holding down to buttons for repeatable use should be possible. -Some basic locked layouts should come premade for 2-3-4 screens. There are too many obsessed people that get anxious when they can't align things. Imagine zooming in and out, resizing all your screens at once without losing the alignment. And now imagine it with interchangeable custom environments...
And there are too many other little details all browsers must have but I'm pretty sure you are working on those. Good luck.
love it! some suggestions. i love using this to browse the web while chatting on discord and watching youtube! where i used to hop on my phone or laptop to quickly look things up or watch youtube, now i tend to do it on quest.
but it's definitely in development and a bit barebones right now. what bothers me a lot right now is the lack of an ad blocker.. i almost forgot how horribly frustrating the internet is without one.
so here's a list of stuff i'd like to see in the future: - an ad blocker with support for adblock lists like easylist, or support for firefox extensions like ublock origin, or both - the ability to move windows around the room without physically having to go over to them and walking to the place you want to put them (look at apps like Immersed, PaintingVR, or even rec room for examples of how this can be done) - rotation snapping. my windows are rotated all over the place and it's so hard to get them perfectly aligned! - ability to change width and height of browser windows, not just scale it uniformly - ability to zoom text out and in inside a browser window (useful for stuff like having way more text on-screen in discord) - tabs - password remembering - support for streaming services such as netflix - detachable keyboard - ability to set cookies to block third party cookies
i know it's a lot of work and i have no idea how much extra work it is compared to working on a normal browser, but i feel like these things would help a lot to make this a much more fully fledged browser! i hope you can add these with the limitations of the quest..
Pass through 😀. I move about a lot and I research lots of stuff but I find I still tend to use my mobile …until now! Now with this app I can move around my home safely and browse in vr thank u so much I feel that we need these things and amazed that this was not a feature at the start of standard alone headsets so thank you the developer for doing this as it should be !
I believe u will have a good future in vr and technology nice work!
Finally! Finally, finally , finally , finally!!! someone made a virtual reality browser with movable windows. This is an AWESOME start to something i have been waiting years to see happen with VR. My only suggestions would be to have a favorites list idependent from the browser. Maybe a keyboard that detaches from the windows and can be centered in the bottom of the view, the window with the keyboard active could be highlighted, and last but not least, the ability to create a wall within the play space that would obscure a window from view, this would allow you to go into another room and put a window up in that space and it would not still be visible when returning to the original space. I will very much be looking forward to updates to this app. Thank you so much for the hard work. My "quest" for a VR work space to replace my monitor is almost complete.
This is very cool, this is the future! Needs some work (full screen YouTube and better grabbing/positioning) but this is amazingly cool. Just to test things out, I put 3 screens over my IRL monitors, 1 screen in my lap, 2 giant screens on the my walls, and another small screen on my guitar amp. 7 screens and it was all totally usable. They even stay in the same place with the same content when you close and reopen the app. Can't wait for Cambria to try this with a more comfortable headset and color passthrough. Legit AR is coming!
Freeking amazing. Your browser is by far way better than the one on the headset thank you guys you make it look just like the freaking browser in the Apple commercial for their VR headset thank you. If this ends up being a paid thing at almost certainly get it.
