Has Huge Potential! I love the concept of this app! Hopefully the developers are able to add direct touch when things are right in front of you and keep the crosshairs and pinch gesture for templates farther away. One thing that this app needs is to take advantage of the quest 3’s depth map. It breaks the illusion when artifacts go beyond the walls. The virtual keyboard was an essential addition, and i’m glad it’s here. Other than that, i can’t wait to see where the developers are going with this product!
For work and focused thinking. I could easily imagine the potential of this application and decided that it was worth investing in. The application performs wonderfully but it does take some time to get used to. Working with this app has a brought new pleasure to vr. Some things I would like to see in future with this app are cut and paste as well as the ability to resize images and an undo function also a whiteboard for doodling and the possibility to make my own mind map style links between different items in my space. This is a great application worth the price for its potential. Well done.
It works fully with controllers…. I like hand-tracking but some things won’t work right for me, maybe in the future. The virtual keyboard is a must with controllers. Feel like Tony Stark. Will keep an eye on future features and updates.
Abslutely brilliant app. Genious. This is an absolutely brilliant app and brings a well tested activity, mind mapping and brainstorming into the VR world. It works very well and with a little imagination it can be used for so much more. I have now built a journal/diary/weekly calendar in the app. It has it's purposes for many of life different aspects. From daily organising your shopping to University to even managing your mental health. This app has endless possibilities and I look forward to the updates in the future and seeing where I go with it. The quickest and easiest £30 I've ever spent.
On the update side please add the function to upload Youtube videos if possible. Also, I might be missing how to do it, but the ability to copy and paste text and even topics would be great and even better to duplicate workspaces.
Thanks for the great app. Keep doing what you're doing.
Not as advertised. In the trailer the viewer sees the user in a well designed 3D environment. But in the actual application you are in the middle of a 3D plane that is totally empty, a dark void that I assumed you can import a room or environment... but nope, there is nothing there... and no functionality to do so. Am I missing something or is this purely deceptive marketing?
Amazing idea. I love how lost I got in brainstorming ideas. It was connecting things I never thought of before. I see so much potential and seeing other reviews it seems like there are constant updates to what the consumer is asking for which is always a great sign.
The one issue I have is actually importing anything with Dropbox. I can see the images from my account but whenever I import I get a blank image. It is the right file type and I've tried unlinking my Dropbox and linking up again. Also resetting the game and rift when I have unlinked was also done.
Development and improvements are fast. I have paid for the app because I see that the developer is serious about making this product better. I have been using it for a while now. We have gone from no delete option, adding delete, fixing floating panels, fixing AI suggestions and many more all in a span of a couple of weeks. The way this is going to go from a good app to a great to an amazing app in no time. As it stands now, this is the only stand alone productivity app to collect and organize your thoughts in a mind map approach. I used it to prepare presentations as well as a radio show Q/A where I was a guest panelist. Keep the updates coming. Please integrate with Onedrive soon. Thats where most of my stuff is. I opened a new Dropbox account just to use the import export feature.
My colleges at work are bought into quest 3 and this app. Kudos to the development team🎉 support them to keep the update momentum going.
Ok did not read the creviews. This was one of the apps I wanted to see the first weeks I got my quest 2 View some docs pictures or website favoritys Found some but like I wanted Also this look something but can't pas the first start screen can press the next button
Then you see fare away press the space-bar Why do we need a real keyboard in a 3D world also if I connected some where to let hover my physics keyboard But ok I'm not the first one And just free so let's wait
A great start at something incredible! Where can I post feature requests?
OK, I guess I'll do it right here, since there doesn't seem to be a channel for it (even on their Discord):
* This really needs to be multiplayer, where people could collaborate. * We need the option to use our regular controllers for times we don't want to fool around with the hand tracking. It's nice but the controllers are easier in a lot of cases. * I'd like to voice type, not have to use my keyboard. Would have broader appeal too, not everyone has a compatible bluetooth kb. * I'd like to be able to easily reach ChatGPT, Claude 2 AI, Bard and Bing. In fact, as more come online, it would be even better to have an option of adding them to a library of resources. * Can we add Youtube videos easily?
I just bought this last night, so I've got more to learn about how to use it. But these are good starting points from my first impressions.
I really wanted it to work for me. I was searching for an app which would allow me to prepare my role playing sessions. Being able to browse through rule book PDFs and collecting a multitude of notes, floating maps (images) are the things I need. Softspace does a lot of that. However… no PDF support and not being able to work with local files are both a problem for me.
As much as I would love to use it and change my workflow, Softspace is not there yet. I would pay extra for non-cloud workspaces and PDF support.
If all you need is images and text and all is on Dropbox, this is for you.
But btw. Why does the integrated browser not allow entering website addresses manually? It always starts a google search which renders the browser completely useless for me.
Amazing UX but not practical. This app has a lot of potential with its great UI and UX. Unfortunately, I don’t need another mind map. What I would like to use this for is as a Remote Desktop for my laptop. VR would make “hot desking” at work so much better. It would also make the days where my SO and I are both working from home better because I wouldn’t need an office if I just had a great Remote Desktop for laptop. Unfortunately, meta’s Remote Desktop is just simple mirror of my screen and so are all the other desktop mirroring apps. I don’t care or want social features. I want a “desktop mirror” that frees more windows from a screen and has a UX like this app.
Needs a Bluetooth Keyboard. I am giving this 5 stars even though the app is ahead of its time. As an avid mindmapper, the ability to mindmap in VR means that I will be creating virtual rooms with mindmaps floating all over the place.
Unfortunately, Oculus hasn't figured out Bluetooth keyboards yet (not allowing me to connect my Bluetooth keyboard is backwards), and not having a keyboard makes this app unusable.
@Dev, perhaps a workaround is that you create a virtual keyboard that will allow us to type without requiring a Bluetooth keyboard?
Once this is fixed, this will quickly become my favorite Meta app.
Really cool idea about 2 years too early. For the most part this app is impressive. It allows for you to manipulate items and basic workflows in an AR space in a way that is reminiscent of a certain fruit themed company's upcoming new headset. *Ahem*
However the problem here is that the hardware isn't designed for it and the app itself doesn't do much other than having essentially notepads floating next to your head. The basic idea shows a lot of potential but the mechanics of how it will work and what it can actually do are not polished enough to make it a meaningful addition to my workflow. A few more noted below:
1) A keyboard is "required for most things" according to the app. Which in my opinion defeats the point of an Augmented reality work station since the only time i'll probably use this is if I'm already working on a computer and want to use this as an extension of my work environment. So you have to have two keyboards? Quest headsets already have voice search functionality so why can't you just select the box and automatically use voice search to dictate stuff?
2) It is advertised as compatible with the Quest 2 and it technically is... but the Quest 2 hardware is not designed for this type of work. Both the AR functionality and the hand tracking while *technically possible* are both so rudimentary that they're not useful for much. For example you can't read or even see a computer screen while in AR mode so again it doesn't function well as an extension of your work environment.
3) 90% of the features require a Softspace account to be able to do anything. Why? If it is a simple workstation app that is free all I can think of is that they're making money off of tracking and selling your data while using it. Which isn't something new, especially for FB. But if I'm going to be using this for sensative work documents there is no way I want a 3rd party app seeing and tracking everything I do.
4) There is no additional "app" functionality like using YouTube or even basic stuff like a calculator, a calendar, a clock, or music. It can't do anything that I would use an AR workstation for other than a simple notepad (which requires a separate notepad). A browser is baked in but you can only open one tab at a time and again if I have to use a browser for everything I might as well just stay on my normal laptop.
