A Relaxing VR Experience with friends. This app provided a wonderfully relaxing experience for both my mind and body. I spent a delightful afternoon exploring its virtual world with my best friend. Just hope that more content will be added to the excitement.
The Living Room environment is simple but beautiful. Being able to register an account and replace the photos on the wall with personal ones was a delightful touch, I surprised my friend by displaying our photo together, which added a special and personal element to our virtual space. The developers have excellent taste; both the indoor environment and outside views are a feast for the eyes. Although the choices are limited, each setting, particularly the ocean scene, is crafted with such exquisite beauty that it becomes our favorite. The interactive items in the room are a nostalgic throwback, reminiscent of the first computer game I played 25 years ago, where I clicked on objects in a pixel-art style castle. Although most interactive choices are just 3D videos but the selection of video resources is well-curated and enhances the experience significantly. The best part, of course, is being able to spend time with friends in this virtual space. We took some enjoyable 3D tours together. It would be even better if there were more activities or games to play together. Currently, the options are somewhat limited to chess and pet rabbits. But they are adorable! Although the interactions with the rabbit are somewhat limited, it's still a charming addition to the VR environment.
Overall, this VR app is a fantastic platform for relaxation and spending quality time with friends in a beautifully designed virtual space. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing what the developers will add next.
Love It. I really enjoy this App.It’s a lot of fun. It would be nice if you can change the the scenery inside. A new living room scene. What’s with the empty room with teddy bears in a circle with candles in the middle? Also, if the programs on the TV could be updated that would be awesome.
Like a relaxing getaway! I love thus app! When you change the scenery to the ocean, the outside patio deck feels like you are on a cruise ship having a sea day! The virtual interactive choices within the program, speaking of the virtual getaway sceneries, are done in high quality 3 D video, which is better quality than most VR sceneries. There is something for everyone in the Alcove; brain games, multiple topic education videos, VR getaway escapes, VR travel, space travel adventure VR experiences, simple and gentle follow along exercises on the patio deck, VR places to meditate with or without guidance, to name a few. Yeah, like being at a wellness retreat in the mountains or on a cruise ship if you use your imagination.
App not working stuck at logo. Its not going past the starting logo. Its been 2 days and its not opening. I have reinstalled app 3 times already and its not going past the logo
Bought all games, some unplayable. I love this app...however, most of the games I would LOVE to play - I can't because the letters/ words/instructions seem to be symbols, not actual letters and words. For example, with one of the games, I'm required to type, but the keyboard is all jumbled/symbols of some kind. Another example - I was asked to select an answer, but couldn't read the choices...PLEASE FIX - I PAID FOR ALL CONTENT BECAUSE I REALLY WANT ACCESS TO ALL THE GAMES.
improve application. Could a virtual desktop be added to work, or a web browser would be ideal? Also, being able to change the space or interact more with objects, add a pet, or a virtual GPT chat for conversation.
Fun but bugs be in it. It’s a fun game to play when your bored but I have issues getting out when I wanna leave the game & also can yal fix the bugs dat I sometimes have sometimes ?
Thanks !! And a couple of ideas. Thanks so much for the Alcove app. It is beautiful above measure. I love the 3d travel videos and also all the meditation content in it. I can almost practically spend almost the whole day in it!
I was wondering do you have any plans to include a YouTube player inside alcove ? I feel this would also be very wonderful to watch especially with guess.
Also candlelight meditation would also be a very wonderful addition.
By the way, what’s with the seven bears 🐻 in a circle in the back room ? ?????
Nice place. Where’s the beer?. An interesting app. Not really a game. It’s more of a hangout spot in a virtual apartment where you can explore new experiences, play a few games with friends and watch a movie on the couch. There are customization options to allow you to add your own photos to the walls and add videos to the TV via a rendever account. A nice touch! It is also possible to jump into certain 3rd party apps from within this app as long as you own them. Pretty cool!
A few things I would like to see added is the ability to: - Add more memory to the media section (currently capped at 2gb). Much needed for uploading larger videos! - Ability to walk around and listen to the TV instead of it stopping when you step away - A radio (to listen to uploaded music, audiobooks, etc.) - More 3rd party apps like, Youtube, Audible, Kindle) - A Web Browser
Awesome! As a handicap suffering from left hemiplegia, travelling afar is a hassle bit with Alcove's bus trips, car tours and hot air balloon rides, stepping foot in another is within a finger's touch. I am truly grateful! Besides, I like how I can upload images of my own preferences to decorate the walls. Not to mention uploading my favourite anime to watch in this virtual dimension. Just having one thing that keeps bugging me: how about reading books, magazines or the like? Are we allow to listen to audiobooks while moving around the room? Also I do like the games because due to my brain injury, I have trouble seeing the left side so the Ripple game is a challenge but urges me to stay alert that I should not be oblivious to my left.
So very disappointing. Alcove was created in conjunction with the AARP, and the design of this app reflects this clearly. The user finds themselves in a lush waterfront property, and can move to different parts of the home through selecting pre-determined standing spots on the ground (so no locomotion to speak of). The exterior backdrop environment can be changed to predetermined selections, but this area can only be seen beyond the property's limits and cannot be explored further. A TV room can play a series of AARP videos, but as these must stream from the internet the user must have a very fast internet connection in order to watch these uninterrupted. Available in Alcove are brain-training games, but these hardly use the capabilities of VR and rather seem to be ports of website-based games. A meditation area exists for those interested in exploring such a venture (I was not). Also, a mode exists where the user can spawn a pet rabbit in the home, but the rabbit does not do much (in all fairness, this is probably accurate to having a real rabbit as a pet). Alcove promises much more varied brain-training games, but these require additional purchases. All in all the Alcove experience feels cheap and severely limited, and I doubt additional purchases would improve this experience much.
