This distinctive real-life library has been recreated by our artists and programmers for everyone to access in the metaverse. The interior was painstakingly modeled to match the dimensions, layout, and style of the actual library from the shelves and books to the unique displays and custom artwork for an immersive experience.
Thousands of actual books from this library have been realistically modeled and shelved appropriately within this application. Information about each volume has been carefully collected and is presented to the user, who can interact with each book and access the library's online catalog entry for that volume.
This library also boasts a number of ancient artifacts of historical importance. Since this library is more than just the sum of its books, we have used state-of-the-art photogrammetry and bespoke modeling to reconstruct these artifacts in VR to present them to the user. They can be handled, resized, and explored in a private viewing room.
The application and models have all been carefully optimized for both performance and realism on a stand-alone VR headset. To do this, care was taken to balance the geometry and imagery used for each model and situation. Advanced programming techniques bring everything together to maximum effect.
Please visit and enjoy the library.
Coming Soon: Multi-User capabilities allowing you to join friends in the library!
Books books books. I thought there wasn't much you could do in this library but take a look at the display cases that are around the library. Boy was I wrong. If you like books then this is the app for you. Every book that I looked at I could actually take out of the shelves and look at its cover. You then can find information about the book that is in the library. I am floored at the work that must have gone in to create this virtual library. The display cases have good information and you have the ability to see the artifacts outside of the case.
