I'm a drummer and this makes me wish i. I spent 500$ on a drum set just to get noise complaints and put it in storage this makes me want to just sell it and use this. Me and one of my friends use this so much I can't wait to get the full version
Edit if you could add multiple people sessions so friends can practice together that would be great
And I wish it wouldn't spawn the drum sets in my head
Good fun game and a tool. It’s fun. I’ve been playing the drums for few years and I’ve gotten pretty good. I then found this app and it was to fun to play. Finding the app was kinda hard because I searched “drum” on the store and didn’t get any results. I then googled vr drumming game and found it. But anyways it’s a nice way to learn and practice drums if you’re away from your kit or you don’t have one. I showed the game to a friend of mine who plays quads and is sort of interested in learning the kit. He is unable to find the demo app on the store for some reason so he hasn’t gotten it on his quest 2 yet (I have the quest 1). Some complaints I have are that the default hi hat sounds weird when open. It just sounds like a closed hi hat but a bit louder but when you play a song and use the open hi hat it sounds good and like a real hi hat so I always end up just starting a song to get the kit and then exiting it. Another thing is that sometimes due to no rebound when you hit the drums your stick will go through and hit another tom. Like if I’m hitting my high tom sometimes my stick goes through and hits my snare. An easy fix to this would just be to make a mode you can toggle on and off in settings where if it’s on once you hit a drum you can’t hit another until you lift your stick back up so you don’t hit through a drum and end up hitting another one. Also the cowbells hitbox is to small and they should add another floor tom.
A good game but what I wish... Paradiddle is a good game and learn how to play drums. I've made about 5 good heats on this game and also I can't get a real drum set in real life. The only thing I wish was more drums to play and also play with marching drums like tyner drums and marching bands drums. What also I think should be fix is the high hat. The high hat vs the one you get when playing songs sounds different and I wish that the high hat that you get sounds like the one you play with during songs. Paradiddle is a great game but I wish there were some fixes and extras.
Fun Learning Tool. Love to play this game and learn a little drumming. with the note highway it can be easy to learn songs and has potential to become somthing like rocksmith for drummers. even that it is fun i realy would like to see some envoirment options like a stage or studio or something that would really make the experience more fun.
I love it. My gateway back into music after becoming bedbound and disabled for a unknown amount of time. It's been emotional and this means more to me than the dev or anyone else may ever know. Cons: I want settings to be saved on exit and launch Pros: Literally everything else. I cannot wait for a full robust release.

Amazing. One of my favorite games on ve other than pavlov
It’s great! For what it is. First off, having just moved into an apartment and being real bummed about selling my kit, I was ecstatic to discover this wonderful little app. After much fandangling and three Amazon orders I was able to get kick and high hat pedals working. And it works! You can play full on vr drums!! Sort of. I don’t know if it’s the hardware or maybe my equipment is glitchy, but even after calibrating the sticks many times, nothing ever feels quite…on. Like, really solidly ON the beat. I would say it’s…86% responsive. I play the HH with my right and snare with my left and the snare only hits about 40% of the time. But I’m pretty sure that’s a limitation with the hardware as my right arm is covering up some of the lights on the touch controller rings that the headset looks for. Not really sure how that could be corrected. Other than just, somehow tightening everything up it would be really nice if my saved kits actually saved in exactly the same position I place them. As every time I load them I have to readjust the hight and placement. I don’t know if there’s a way to download other note highway/custom songs on quest, as I’ve seen on discord you can for the steam version, but that would be really nice. It would also be nice if there were a way to bring in sheet music to the vr space so that I could actually practice. Also, like, a YouTube or a browser window to watch tutorials would be awesome as well.
Tl/dr It’s a pretty solid drumming experience and I’m amazed that it’s free. Other than the glitches those semi nit picky things it’s the best you’ll get that I’ve found.
This is great. This really feels like a much more faithful version of the *instrument* hero games. the sounds are great and the customisation is fantastic, i actually feel like im learning to play drums.
What a great time. Watching this video makes me want to jump back in. This would be a gold mine if you somehow could allow the end user a way to create thier own song mods and add a whole playalong ,easy, hard, etc. Not sure how to work out the whole monitary thing but I have some excellent ideas. Ability to buy songs, song packs, albums, etc. tie it in with amazon music or spotify.
Even without that killer idea above, Iove this app. As a gutarist of 30+ years, this app makes me want to jam the drums more.
Great game for beginners. I have never played drums outside of this game, and I have never played an instrument in my life. However, due to this game alone, my interest in learning how to play the drums has skyrocketed. It is really easy to use for beginners, and the developers continue to update and make the game better. While this game may not be perfect at the moment, the developers are doing a fantastic job and I am having a blast learning how to play my favorite songs. Can’t wait for the full release on the Oculus Store!
Kind of bad. So first of all you have the drum set I mean it the drums are always fun to play it's just one thing that bothers me is every single time you start a song you always got to restart your drum set and everything even if you save it it does not save it for you and it's just kind of annoying having to restart your drum said every single time you want to play a song you see what I mean and also because every single time you hit the note on point it just goes past to where it doesn't even look like you hit the note but all in all it's not that bad I would say still kind of bad but yeah
Ever wanted to play the drums?. But no space for the set, can't play loud, no money, not sure if you would stick to it? Well here's an easy solution. With Paradiddle you can try the water of learning to play the drums without any of the big hurdles - in a fun way! Just go for it!
Amazing music tool and fun! With their new collaboration with modern drummer magazine I know this game is going to go far and have a storied future! Thank you for this amazing product!
Latency is still big. It is a great drum simulator and it's fun to mess around with it. However, the latency makes it unplayable in a real song, at least for me. Not sure I'm doing something wrong.
VR drumming is an amazing concept. I've bought my Quest 2 about a week ago, and this is my first review. It deserves to be. As a drum student this is a wonderful tool. It allows you to practice on a virtual drum kit in a very small space. Of course it's not the same as a real drumkit, but it's still good enough for practicing and improving, and that is just amazing. I bought 2 USB pedals because I read that you can connect them to the Quest2 with a USBC hub to include the kick drum and the open hi-hat. I hope it works!
I'm also playing custom songs that work perfectly on this game, thanks to the converter app they've also made. If you search, you can find all the Rockband (game) songs available for Paradiddle. So fun.
The only real critique and issue I have with Paradiddle is the UX. The menu interface sucks. I wish they made it more simple and easy to use for everyone. The idea of the menu sticking to your hand is annoying. Also having to reach small buttons without the laser beam is annoying too. And also, the controllers look like the Oculus Rift, not the Quest. This needs to be fixed. I can't show it to a lot of friends because of this, because I know they will not understand any of it. It needs to be FAR more simple and easy to use.
Also, it would be nice if you could move your ENTIRE kit to accommodate it better in front of you. The recalibrate button works very badly and you never get it where you want it to be.
That's all for now. Hope you keep developing this awesome app and make it better every day, I love it!
Great for trying out drums. I am just a hobbyist drum player. I am surprised that I have been able to play full length songs on this game so easily. I connected my keyboard for emulating kickdrums and that worked too. Surely the app is rough around certain edges, but it delivers the core promise of playing drums as advertised. This deserves a V1, can't wait for the launch!
