The best game on Quest 2. This game is the reason I bought a Quest 2. I'm not much of a gamer and haven't owned a console since high school (about 15 years ago). I was visiting my sister when my brother-in-law insisted, repeatedly, that I try his Oculus. "That's not really my thing." I said. He persisted and finally I tried it on to appease him. This was the game he had loaded up. Within three seconds, I said to myself that I was buying a Quest 2 and that this game would be the first one I'd get.
Other, more experienced gamers, might have insightful things to say about the gameplay, storyline, or mechanics, but for someone who literally knew nothing about VR, this opened up a whole world for me. Like a lot of people, I grew up watching Star Wars and this was the perfect introduction to virtual reality. For anyone who is just starting out in this medium, or for people who aren't super into gaming, you really can't get any better than this as a foot in the door. It's fun, there's plenty to do, and - unlike some other games on Quest - you get more than enough for what you pay.
I got this game about a year ago and then Last Call when it came out. I recently replayed the whole thing from beginning to end after having experienced a lot of what Quest 2 has to offer, and I was just as amazed and satisfied with what you can do in this game. The extra stories in the cantina are pretty cool. The main story itself is great. Lots of little corners of worlds to explore with the option of going back and forth and revisiting areas. I can't wait for a sequel or additional in-app purchases.
One thing I would really love to see in the future for this game or a sequel is flying; ships, speeders, pod races, dog fights with x-wings, anything. Going inside the Millennium Falcon, new planets, big cities like Coruscant, abandoned imperial bases, Mandalorians. The sky is literally the limit with what they can do with this game in the future. And I can't wait.
Need more DLC! I'm not a huge Start Wars fan, not am I a FPS fan, but I loved playing this game!
For those who think it's short you're obviously not playing it right. The initial story seems short, but there are tales to play through which are unlocked by doing stuff in the cantina, and there are mini droids to find in every location (listen for R2D2).
You can play a version of darts and muck around on a drum kit to pass the time too.
The game is not designed for speed running, it's for taking your time and having fun
I hope there's more DLC in the pipeline as it's one of the best games on the Oculus!
Big problem. This is a great game, I definitely recommend it if you are a Star Wars fan or not, the story and dlc are great and I played it so much to find the secrets and get the upgrades and I enjoy coming back to this game as it offers a little bit of replayability.
However there is a big problem with the game and I know I’m not the only one who has this issue; the game won’t load.
I originally thought my game was bugged but I can’t get into the game anymore and I looked up a solution on the internet to try and get the game working again. I found Reddit posts, help sites, and reviews on this very oculus app of people having the same problem with no solution. Several responses have been sent by support members suggesting to delete and re-download the game, restart you headset, and delete and redownload the app, and I along with other people have still had no success and now our $30+ game is no longer accessible.
I know that there is help trying to be issued to people who have this problem, and this is a great game that I really enjoyed, but there isn’t a solution that gets the game back and now I and others are stuck with a game that takes up storage and can’t load. I will try to update this review if a solution is found, but be warned about potentially being unable to load your game
EDIT: Well I decided to factory reset my headset, and I redownloaded everything, I opened the game and was faced with the same loading screen that I’d get stuck on, so I sat down in my living room with defeat but to my amazement after about 5-7 minutes passed the game decided to work! This seems to be the only solution unless you are the lucky few who just need to delete and redownload the game in order for it to work again but this is how I got past the loading wall, I wish this would’ve been patched because of the hassle but now almost a year later I’m able to play the game again
The force is strong with this one... Did you ever watch star wars and wished or imagined you where in that universe? Than this game is a must! As an old school star wars fan I grew up with the movies. I had toys , comic books, novels you name it, but never would I have thought to one day be able to experience the star wars universe like this. After watching the trailers and reading the reviews I just had to try this game. I'm really happy that I did.
Many reviewers recommend to buy the add on to this game and I must agree. The game is great but with the expansion it becomes fantastic. The graphics, the sound effects, the details are absolutely fantastic not to mention the voice acting and the missions them selves.
You won't be able to emerge yourself into the star wars universe unless you try this vr game experience. It gives you the opportunity to become different characters and experience things like never before. This game actually makes you feel as if you're really there. I personally haven't had any issues with the game other than some minor loading bugs that occurred two three times but that's it.
I hope the developers make more games like this but bigger and longer. I can't get enough of it! An absolute must if love star wars and wish to become a part of the star wars universe....
Good base game… fantastic DLC. The base game is fine. The environments are really good, the music is great, the characters are good and the inclusion of different assets like drones, detonators and the multitool, make this entry definitely more unique than “Vader Immortal”. Sadly, the non-DLC story lacks variety in gameplay and while the story is fun to play through, it isn’t really unique.
When I finished the game I was really surprised to see, that there is a DLC for it. I am a huge Starwars fan so I OBVIOUSLY bought it and… the DLC blew me away. Everything I talked about in the first section of this review has been improved massively. I love, that they brought in Hondo from the clone wars + some new characters. Another great aspect of the DLC is the hammer. Even though you can not transport it with you, you will find yourself using it much more often than you would expect. Just fantastic. This game, for the first time, made me appreciate the world of the sequels (more than the movies ever did) and that is something to be proud of! Great work IlmX!
BEST GAME EVER. The first part of Galaxy’s Edge isn’t long enough to truly shine on its own but the second is and, together, they make for a satisfying Star Wars caper more akin to one of the recent side-story TV series than a galaxy-sweeping epic seen on the big screen. And, though the gaming elements of Galaxy’s Edge are somewhat simplified, developer ILMxLAB remains unmatched when it comes to world-building and immersion.
There are two elements to Galaxy’s Edge. First and foremost is the main campaign, which sees players crash land on the planet of Batuu (the very same featured at Disneyland) and head off on missions that pit them against a gang of space bandits. Then there’s the universe-spanning stories from world-weary barkeep, Seezelslak, which let you embody other characters on entirely unrelated adventures. Two cast you as a Jedi in Disney’s newly-minted High Republic era (let the brand synergy flow through you), and the other features fan-favorite bounty hunter, IG-88.
It’s a strange concoction, especially as it’s the ‘Tales’ of Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge that take a back seat. The campaign itself is no doubt a direct response to those that wanted more ‘game’ out of ILMxLAB’s Vader Immortal trilogy, with upgrade systems, collectibles and a slow and steady introduction of new weapon and enemy types. It’s a shame, then, that it has to contend with Seezelslak’s stories, which provide a path for the developer to experiment with more narrative-driven ideas that are undeniably more exciting and really explore the potential of VR.
In an ideal world these two focuses would be two separate projects, with each given the appropriate room to breathe. That’s especially true of the Tales segment, which only leaves you wanting more after its three short experiences are up. But, even if they’re wrestling for your attention, these elements do make up a compelling and varied Star Wars experience.
Great way to be part of Star Wars. This game is for the person that always wanted to know what it would be like to be in the star wars universe. It has a little bit of everything and though it isn't a super action packed game, it is fun to play and has a little bit of everything especially with the DLC expansion. I hope more Star Wars games are in the works.
Unreal game experience. I've gamed FPS since Castle Wolfenstiens launch way back during the messianic and Jura era. My main gaming today are the Fallout series, Generation Zero etc.. I do consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to these sort of games and the experience to be expected.
The gaming experience, in this game, is hands down jaw dropping and the initial time you spend learning the game is, without a doubt, the best I've ever had, for any game. The VR blows everything else out of the water. I may only play this game for the next six months. This is a no-brainer, buy it, as the very first game you get on the oculus OR as the only game. Full points for me, 10/10.

HL Alyx graphics but still so distant. I give 5 stars but this doesn't mean this game Is perfect. It's short, and compared on how much It last the cost Is too High. Overall there Will be future pay to play contents and this Is strongly annoying.
BUT, it's a big step ahed on stand alone games Sector because for the First Time we have a game capable to exploit the real potential of Q2.
Despite the graphics, the game has glitches, bugs, problems about aiming system, low interaction with the world, your hands go inside the walls, the objects, the characters and so your weapons and everything else you have in you hands It compenetrate with anything you touch.
Enemy AI Is... There's not enemy AI. Enemyes Just arrive, take cover behind something and sometimes pull their heads out to shoot you and that's It. They do not flank you or do nothing else to make things hard for you.
5 stars Just for the clearness and the wow effect as a VR game on a stand alone device. Ok, now we have the perfect graphics for the Q2, but now we need a good AI, more interaction with the environment, no clipping bug (i want my hands lean on walls, items and characters, i don't want my hands enter on them) and overall a longer story, not a 2 hours One shot

Best VR game so far. I absolutely LOVE this game! You are part of the adventure: flying through space, running around in battleships and exploring far off lands. Collecting objects as you go and trying to complete your missions. Hours of gameplay. This game is what VR is all about. I hope to see more games like this!
Best stand alone quest game out there. I just can’t believe how good this game is, the combat, the addon, the lightsabers, the force, and the story is just amazing. I have no idea how this was made, but I’m glad it was. I may have thumb stick drift but even with that, this game is just amazing. To anyone reading this, get this game if you like Star Wars at all, even if you don’t like Star Wars you might still like it. All I have to say, thank you for making this game
Great Game - be sure to buy the DLC. Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is a fantastic game and is only made complete when bundled with the DLC (so be sure to buy both). If you've played the Vader Immortal series, then the base Galaxy Edge game is analogous to buying only 2 of the 3 Vader Immortal episodes.
Overall, you're getting a juicy 7-8 hour gaming experience (w/ the DLC). There's 3 Main Missions, each about 1.5-2 hours. Then you get 3 side missions called "Tales", which are essentially Bar stories retold by Seezelslak at his Cantina. The Tales are 30-45 min each.
This is a meaty game that's mainly about first person gunplay; unlike the Vader Immortal series, there's no Dojo levels. Levels look good, gunplay is fun, and the character/NPC animations and voice acting are TOP NOTCH in quality. I personally am not a huge fan of Star Wars, but this game really opened me up to the SW universe/lore and compelled me to watch some of the movies.
Overall, a great game ! Bravo ILMxLab and I look forward to your next VR title.
Best game to be on quest 2. If you need a game and you like star wars, choose this. The base game is awsome, and you meet some iconic characters along the way. But the DLC, I mean, it is the best. It is so worth it. If you buy the base game, make sure you buy the DLC. Also, if you complete the base game and buy the expansion pass, don’t worry. Your progress will reset. You will just have to play a little bit of the beginning again.
good game - but buy the DLC. This game would be 3 stars if it didn’t have DLC but the DLC makes it awesome, making it five stars. it gives you tons more stuff to do, tons more customisation, new weapons and an amazing returning character (I won’t say who so you can find out for yourself).
Better than the Darth Vader game. I thought that Darth Vader game was what they were advertising as their best SW game. And I was slightly disappointed that that went a little bit too quickly and there wasn't a whole lot for me to do in it, so I figured this would just be lighter and go buy more quickly. But then I finally broke down and bought this one. Much better and more interesting. Lots of different crazy missions to go on. Beautiful scenery, temples, ships ... Seemingly endless. And lots of places to revisit. Equipment to search for, stories to tell. If you enjoyed the Darth Vader game you will also enjoy this, and it lasts a lot longer.
Very enjoyable! I really like this game. It's mostly a shooter but you do get to play around with a light saber a bit, and the quests are fun and engaging. It's longer than the Vader Immortal series (which I also like) and the DLC is well worth it. There are main quests and side quests and stories that you can unlock. Tons of fun!
Good game, not great. I was fooled a bit by the reviews but I don’t really mind. The game is good, it’s fun and has great moments. But the best VR games have one thing in common that this game lacks and that’s evolving gameplay, locations and variety. The game just felt too repetitive for me. I really wanted to love this game but one thing I learned playing the best VR games you can buy is that right when you think you have it all down the game takes a turn and you have more to learn or process. This game didn’t do that for me at all. Liked it a lot though
Star Wars fans will love this! There are some repetitive elements, but with the expansion pack you get a surprising amount of different gameplay. The voice acting is very good and drags you in. I got the most out of it playing in hard mode. Otherwise it was too easy to just walk through battles. This, of course makes the game very accessible to younger and new players. Recommended 👍
WE NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THAT🙌. this is the best vr game i ever played. went through this story like 3-4 times already because it has such a good quality in both story and graphic. we need more games like that and i would love another game like that but as a jedi. it would be awesome if there was more of a open world feeling like the possibility of flying to other planets like naboo or tatooine and flying the ship just like at the beginning and at the end of vader immortal. character customization or ship and weapon customization all of this would make it a mindblowing game- in my eyes the best vr game that ever was and ever will be created and i think nearly everybody would buy a star wars open world game like this. please make more games like this🙌
