Award winning Cloudlands: VR Minigolf has an official sequel that's bigger and better than ever. Cloudlands 2 builds off of the fun of playing and building minigolf courses and adds the ability to play full sized golf courses. Arm yourself with a putter, wedge, and driver and hit the links in the clouds.
Could be great with tweaks. I've had this game on the Quest 2 for about 2 and a half years and I can't recommend it at this time. My issues with it are pretty much the same as a lot of other negative reviews:
1. The controls aren't intuitive when relocating. After you hit the ball and need to move to the new location, you end up fighting the teleportation mechanic just to get positioned to the ball properly. It's especially frustrating if you have limited confined space like me, and kind need to be facing the same way in the room when you swing. There's just too much of a fight upstream for something that you should be able to do without even thinking.
2. The physics really aren't fun. The best way I can describe it is the ball feels like a hollow hard plastic ball. The inertia build up is not very good. There's no sense of weight to the ball, you hit it and it takes off, and trying to master a shot just isn't enjoyable. It feels like you're playing golf with a big wiffle ball.
3. Swing controls: I think a mistake was made here when designing the swing mechanic. You only use one controller to interact with the game. You hold one controller with both hands to make the swings, and it just feels clunky and not intuitive at all. A single controller never really feels right in both hands. I think the more traditional approach of using both controllers to hold a virtual club would have been better.
4. Finally, the complete deal breaker for me, as others have mentioned: Updates are pretty much non-existent. In the 2 and half years I've had the game, I only recall one update coming out (maybe 2 if I missed one?). I think all the aforementioned issues could totally be fixed with tweaks, and having a level editor is awesome.
But alas, the game appears to have been completely abandoned. I would obviously recommend it even if there were no updates, if the game seemed complete. I love the concept of mini golf, regular golf, and blending the two, and the level editor. I hope the devs revisit this game!

It's a lie, no maps/doesn't work. Just bought this crap, no online currently available, says 2000+ user made maps there is 0. It is like the server doesn't exist, cant even store your own made maps. Sale of goods act mean anything anymore? Hope this is a glitch or legal action needs to be taken. Needs to be corrected otherwise im taking things further. I tested the game and the course builder, felt it had so much potential.
Abandoned title, avoid. Seems like developers took advantage of the popularity of Cloudlands on the Oculus Go, threw this together on the Quest and have basically abandoned it. No updates in 2 years, still lots of issues. Save your money for games which actually have Dev support behind them like Walkabout or Golf+

What???. I can’t believe this is even for sale, can I get a refund?
Crappy. Worst golf game EVER, the design team should be shot, conmen not worth a quid sterling, all I can say if you want to try the worst game ever then buy this but insure you only play 10mins (Which in these circumstances being such a bad game you won't reach 10 mins) and then demand a refund, I played for fifty mins trying to work out how they could produce such a bad game, they refused to refund, can't even remove software from headset, If you want a fun golfing game then golf +,if you want crazy golf game with so many extras then walk about golf, you have been warned
A bit sad really. If you’re looking for something anywhere close to golf you need to look elsewhere. The swing mechanic is more like short chipping even for the driver. Even a long chip swing will result in the club head disappearing. I suspect this game evolved from a putt putt concept. There are three clubs (driver, iron, and putter) and even things like putting from the fringe of a green doesn’t work.
As others have said, the movement mechanic is pretty broken. It just needs to use your handedness and the path to the hole to place you on the correct side of the ball facing the correct direction. It seems to often place you quite randomly.
The clubs weirdly shrink when addressing the ball - you can’t use your club length to gauge your correct standing position. The club head disappears if you make a full swing with you not hitting the ball.
It doesn’t use club face and swing path to determine ball path. There’s a strange hook and slice mechanic selected with the thumb stick instead.
I can only hope that someone creates something like the VR version of the PSVR title ‘Everybody’s Golf’, for the Quest. It ticks so many boxes.
Way more fun then I expected it. I just got this game and it’s already amazing! The music really makes it more enjoyable too! Honestly I expected just a normal golf kinda game but CloudLands 2 is way more fun then I expected it to be!
Potential, Poor Execution. This game is the only golf VR product that I have found, that allowed 18 hole golf, so I gave it try. I should have trusted the negative reviews about the positioning issues and lack of putting accuracy. It is flat out painful to get positioned over the ball properly. 60% of your time is getting over the ball, whether from a previous hit or off the Tee. The putting is a joke, you barely tap the ball and it goes a mile. I was spoiled by Top Golf and had hopes of a descent game but it did not work out. To place the cherry on top, the game is not refundable. Hopefully there will be updates and I didn’t actually wipe my behind with my $20 and flush it down the toilet.
Way more fun than it should be. Okay so I have played this for about a week and a half now with my best bud on a nightly basis and from day one we got absolutely lost in the stock courses, just playing putting around and roasting the heck out of each other's horrible aim. It's been a super enjoyable week and we since then found a ton of cool stuff in the online levels section and since then the level creator. I have a couple of grievences with that however as a lot of the track themes for mini golf don't have the same piece shapes and it really throws off your ability to make a clean hole exactly how you want it. The locomotion of the game is also just absolutely horrible and can make hitting a big pain. All in all it gets on my nerves but I can't give it less than 4 just for the hours of fun I have had playing it with my friends.
Tldr: it's super fun but I'd wait for it to go on sale I guess until they fix some stuff and add more into the level builder
Worth the money. This game is amazing if your into golfing or honestly even if your not. It’s creative how you can make your own maps and how many maps there are and overall worth it!
Good concept, needs some work. The courses, asthetic, and variety are all excellent, but there is definite room for improvement. As the previous reviews have called out 2 biggest gripes are A) snap to ball - it puts you either right on top of your ball, or way out in front, in either case not a position you can hit from and you have to continually snap move your character around until you are a far enough distance to hit B) physics/swing power appear to be all over the map. A gentle put at 1x club power launches your ball out of the arena, same with the driver/wedge which unless toned down to .6 or .8 are constantly overshooting the course even on a gentle full swing.
Devs are there any plans to make adjustments to the ball snap (similar to how it works in walkabout?) Or club physics?
Poor controls. I think overall the game could be good if you could move around in a way that was more natural and not so clunky, you warp to spots around the map and the ball ends up between your legs where you can't hit it... And you can accidentally got your ball while you are warping which is very frustrating. I would not have bought this game if it had a demo.

Cloudlands 2. Great mini golf game. Alot of things to keep you busy with this golf game. Make your own custom course, or play someone else's, also play on line with friends. I loved Cloudlands on the Go but this is the way to play. Thanks development :)

Just as fun as every other golf game! There's only a few games I have purchased so far that I have instantly been happy with purchasing, and those are Top Putt (Top Golf) and Cloudlands 2. Despite all of the negative reviews, yes, the accuracy may not be as accurate as Top Golf for wedges, or Walkabout Mini Golf for putting, but I still give it an A if you adjust your club power settings up/down.
As far as the game goes, there's nothing like it. The feeling of being in the clouds is awesome. The ambient music/noise is very soothing. I had a fantastic time taking chip/pitch shots as well as putts. As far as driving goes, it doesn't feel too good hitting super hard with no weight, so turning up the power makes this a little bit more enjoyable. By no means do I think this game is supposed to be as accurate as Top Golf or a simulator, but it's accurate enough (still give it an "A" and I would say 90-95% accurate) to get loads of enjoyment out of it. The fact that they have 3 full 18 hole courses, in addition to all the other player created courses is awesome.
The only thing lacking is this... online multiplayer. How do you play it? It says public/private rooms, but there isn't some lobby that has instant matchmaking with another player. You basically create a room and start playing alone. How do others join? Do they just appear and start playing golf with you if they join your public room? It would be nice if you can turn on a feature that you can toggle on/off to be asked to join a match if you were looking for one. This is where Top Golf is pretty cool, you basically click find match, it will pair up with somebody instantly or it will say, "we'll notify you when we find somebody, you can play something else while you wait", and you can just play anything else in the app while you wait until you get a request. Please improve this feature. Either way, still 5 stars.

Ok, but physics could be better.
Ok, but physics could be better. I've put a ton of hours into Walkabout Mini Golf (which is as close to perfection you can find in VR golf) & have been searching for something that rivals the physics in Walkabout & takes it to the next level with full courses. Unfortunately, Cloudlands 2 feels like a step backwards. Perhaps it's because Walkabout is much newer, but certain things just feel off in Cloudlands. For instance, the ball is the size of a baseball & just feels odd to hit. The putting does not feel nearly as slick & perfect as in Walkabout. I dropped the putting power to 0.8x in hopes to making it feel more realistic, but this still seems off a little. I think it's because the ball doesn't roll as I'd expect it to.
The ability to customize holes is great, but the most important thing in a golf game is the physics. I'd love to see an update where they refine the ball & physics. Perhaps take advantage of the Quest 2 hardware and render the entire course instead of 1 hole at a time.
I doubt I'll request a refund because I could see the potential & will play this from time to time, but Walkabout will remain my go to game for VR golf.
Cloudlands & Pro Putt seem to be on a similar level, with a slight edge to Cloudlands due to being able to use a wedge & driver on the courses themselves (Pro Putt only has the driving range, but you can use all clubs).
My advice for the devs would be to play Walkabout & get ideas on how to improve Cloudlands... Namely the ball & putting physics.
Definitely not intuitive. The time required just to figure out how to move around in the game is a big turn off. It's a shame that navigation is so difficult because it would be easy to fix. I spent 20 minutes on the first hole trying to figure out how to get in position on the ball. The game has a "Teleport to ball" feature--but it puts you directly on top of the ball. Why? Anyone out there who plays golf standing on top of the ball? Why doesn't the game figure out if you're using your left or right controller and teleport you into a position where you can actually hit the ball. There are no power indicators of how hard you're hitting the ball--so I guess that's just a learn by feel, but it makes it difficult to judge how hard you're hitting the ball. It's almost a good game, a few minor tweaks would make it fun. As it is, it's unplayable. The authors need to go play some other 2d golf games and take a few hints from them. Teleport to ball should put you in position to hit your shot. Not set you on top of the ball.
Dropped the ball. This game could be outstanding if only you guys and gals would check out walkabout mini golf and ask them to help on returning and positioning player ready to take the next swing That’s all that’s needed 5 stars is just that easy.
Great fun game. Update: They actually fixed it real quick! :D BTW every complain in those bad review are already fixed and mine too now :D
I really like this game. Reading the review I found alot of complain were already fixed in the setting. But, on Quest 2, I can’t see the leaderboard or play on other uploaded custom hole. That is a BIG part of the game missing. Tried on Quest 1 and everything was there. Please fix this!
Best vr golf. Great golf game. Graphics are a little cartoonish but the user made holes and courses make this an endless amount of fun. If you don’t like a course just make your own, it is reeeeeally easy to do. Wish the multiplayer space was a bit more active but a fun round of 18 at any time of day or night is an awesome thing to have in your vr toolbox.
Good golf game but needs more detail. I just baught this game yesterday and i gotta day that this game is alot of fun. I love the design that they went for but i wish they couldve added more detail. Theres only 3 clubs you driver, iron, and your putter. I wish that they could add more clubs like a sand, 4, 6, 9 etc. The putting mechanics are ok I wish they could be better. Overall the game is pretty good for a vr golf game. I wish i could have a more variety, but im not complaining. Ik absolutely love that you can make your own course and that they added mini golf. Other than that, im not complaning about this game.
