Awesimus Prime!!! I'll help you out with all you need to know right now. All reviews are praising this application/tool. One bad review by the only person who didn't "get it". (Surprised he was able to conquer the review submission challenge.)
Stop reading reviews and go check it out! Sheesh! You can thank me later....
Essential tool for remodeling, thank you. Mostly came here just to thank the developers for creating this app and making it available on Quest. I'm not sure yet if I'll have the need to upgrade from a free user to a subscription plan, but if I don't end up needing a paid plan I'm still going to subscribe for a bit to make sure the developers get some money because having this app has been essential for me to plan the design of how to remodel my house. Being able to walk through my house at real scale in VR before any construction starts is so helpful for understanding how the design feels in real life. I would not have a house I liked as much without this app.
I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I do sometimes hit upon things that don't work quite as I'd want them to and I think there's still some room for the developers to iron out some behaviors, for example with two rectangular prisms sitting side by side I couldn't move prism 1 without also moving prism 2. Another example was when I expanded the size of my scene and some of my placed objects stayed locked and some moved which meant my shapes got pulled apart instead of staying together like they should h ave.
Mindblowing. Arkio is amazing! Imagine building a Lego set while standing on the inside of it. The work space is intuitive and powerful. Easy to import and export files with Arkio cloud. Lots of tools. A fantastic platform.
いいねぇ。 Really enjoyed it
Nice. Really enjoyed it
You guys Rock. 昔、製図の授業でこれがあったらと思います。コンピューターによる設計がどれだけ進歩したのか、みんな理解していないんだ...。
You guys Rock. I wish we had this back in the day in drafting class . People just don't understand how far the computer aided design has progressed...
Multi Modal Must- Have! Arkio allows you to move between bird's eye view and a fully immersive to-scale experience with ease. The tools are easy to learn and the pre- stocked people, furniture, landscaping, materials, and more are super helpful to use during the design process. The ability to sketch on your model is something unique and exciting that Arkio brings to the table, blurring the lines between typical physical designing and virtual tools.
Lots of promise. No follow through. I’ve spent hours trying to learn the tool set with this app. It’s incredibly difficult to use for even the most basic things. There are no consistent interaction interaction themes. I really need this app, but I can’t bring in a group of people to collaborate with if I can’t even navigate the virtual space to lead them. Please hire a solid designer to help.
architectural schools should try this!!! Today, Year 3 Architectural studio in Hongik University (Seoul, Korea) had a project review using Arkio+Oculus. It was absolutely fantastic experience. Full of wow and excitement 😊 Students prepared their massing design option (school renovation) in rhino then export to Arkio using the plugin. Each student opened their own meeting room then other students joined the meeting room by simply typing in the room name and the password. Every step was easy and whole work flow was seamless smooth and straightforward. We also did live casting via meta casting so that students who didn’t wear Oculus can watch scenes. I honestly couldn’t recommend more. All architectural schools should try and utilize Arkio+Oculus combination.
Great building app. I only ran through the tutorial so far but it seemed pretty well done. I enjoyed the pass thru capabilities. Maybe I'm an idiot but I couldn't figure out how to exit the app since it appears to take over regular oculus button and I don't see an exit action anywhere.
Collaboration with inhabitants. Arkio was used during a master thesis. The subject focused on the contribution of BIM in a participatory approach. A virtual model was made using Revit then exported with Arkio. This virtual model was then used in participatory workshops to design urban developments with the inhabitants. Following this experimentation, Arkio turned out to be a super, very intuitive tool. The inhabitants, although not used to Oculus, quickly took control of the software. It has been possible to create high quality projects thanks to Arkio. It is an excellent collaborative tool that allows you to clear up many misunderstandings and produce a 3D project in record time. It is obvious that the project produced remains at the level of a feasibility model but the export solution makes it possible to transform this quickly under Revit for a specific project.
My favourite app. It is a great tool that lets you see the big picture and dive in to the details of 3D models. The fact that you can edit the models and meet with colleagues makes it just the perfect tool.
Amazing! This game is great! It’s like little cities but free and with more control over your city :D. Sure, some controls are quite hard to use and hand tracking glitches no matter how bright my room is but overall the game is great. It kinda stinks that you have a limit to how much time you can spend building with your friends and family. Overall one of my favorite features is obviously pass through mode, I can’t find a single game that has this 😄. I wish I could rate more but 5 is the limit, this game is great and I would totally recommend it. It’s free, fun, and easy to use. 🙂
A powerful tool in VR. We’ve bought an apartment and are waiting for the place to be built. I really wanted to get a feel for the space so I built the apartment block in Sketchup, then imported the model into Arkio. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube on how to turn a floorplan into a Sketchup model, and you can also get a free months trial of Sketchup to get you started. Within literally a few hours I was inside the apartment in VR. Arkio has a feature to add the street map and 3d buildings, and I was somewhat surprised this even included New Zealand streets. The sun checker was also handy for seeing how light travelled across the apartment through the seasons. Once the model was imported into Arkio I’ve been using the tools on Arkio to add furniture and cabinetry. My friend bought an apartment in the same block so I added his apartment to the model and we went in together in Arkio for a look around which was great fun. The teleport movement is fine, but it would be good if there was a way to glide through the space using the joystick as there is on some similar apps. But overall it’s an awesome tool and for anyone who has bought an apartment off the plans and can’t wait to see what it’s like, do what I did, and you’ll be inside having a look around before you know it.
Very Powerful Yet Easy To Use! I just spent the last hour trying out this app. I'm impressed. The team design options and plugin flexibility from day 1 is amazing. It's controls are intuitive and I'm sure they'll get even better with time. I'm going to try to incorporate this program into my level design workflow for an upcoming project and see how it pans out. Any level designers, architects, urban planners, landscape architects, designers, or artist should give this a try. With a little bit of an imagination the creative possibilities are literally endless.
My #1 Architectural app on quest. Arkio allows anyone to design like an Architect with ease. Super simple to pick up, with lots of Tutorials to get you going. User friendly menu's and tools allows you to navigate quickly, to get results from your ideas fast. I can see arkio being used for multiple purposes Real world design, game design, and the Metaverse creation. You also can invite friends, family and colleagues to help with this design process. The Import export Compatibility with other programs makes the possibilities endless.. passthrough feature is mind blowing, gives you a glimpse of what augmented reality will be like in the near future..
