Incredible experience. I have been djing for 15 years starting with the exact setup as in Vinyl Reality. Recreating this exact experience in VR is nothing short of incredible. If you have or have been spinning records just get this, you won’t regret it.
Great app that is fun and easy to use. I haven’t had any previous dj experiences, but after using this app for a couple hours I can say I’ve created some sick mixes and actually find myself loving my own mixes instead of cringing. It is a great app to experiment different songs and techniques. It is also visually appealing.
Looks great at first, but... When I first hopped in to the tutorial, and I went to go select a track, nothing appeared! There were no songs, NOTHING! Please fix this issue or try and help me fix it on my end, thanks!
Amazing! I just tried this free app for about 1 hour and I have to say, I am amazed by the quality and realistic way it works! I have to admit, that I am really new to VR, having bought my first VR set (Quest 2) just 7 days ago, but I have been DJing for 40 years now, using the SL 1200's and this looks and feels almost like the real thing. I still struggle with letting go of the record and it being in synch with the other record right away, like I'm used to with real decks, but that is just a matter of more experience with the controllers. The way you found a way of using the PFL by tapping the side is something, I really like! I also love how you can adjust the turntables and mixer settings, like IRL (fader curves, stop speed, etc) Unfortunately,I did not see a way of using my own MP3 collection, since I couldn't access Air Link with this free version, but since it was a test, the records that were supplied were ok to use. I was completely awe struck, when I read you are able to upload and use your own slip mat design! In that case, something I loke to see (as a Hip Hop DJ) would be the option to put the turntables in the so called "battle mode" (i.e. side ways, so they are closer together, next to the mixer) or even next to each other and the mixer on either the left or right side. :) I think I need to buy the PC version to use my own collection, so I will do this and see how I can perhaps start to use it for live streaming as well. :) Cheers, from DJ Bite, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Very promising, and shocked it's free! Background: Been a DJ for over 25 years and started on turntables before switching to digital around 15 years ago. Selecting music is easy (to see the track art on the label is a very nice touch!). All the main parts of the mixing process have been thought through, from cueing to nudging the deck for easier beatmatching. The EQ isn't blown out which is nice and levelled correctly. A VERY nice touch was being able to see the track breakdowns in the vinyl itself. Navigating through folders seemed a little tricky, the mixer could do with a couple nice effects added, and I couldn't easily pull of a spinback, but as it stands right now it's an easy 4 out of 5 and if some of the niggles get sorted, maybe some environmental features like some visual FX, video screens etc, this is easily going to be a 5. Very nice work!
fun app but.. unable to view the MP3 songs that i imported through PC connection. Songs show up on file viewer in the correct directory, but ingame, shows 0...
Awesome musthave for Dj's & Audiophiles! Everything works seamlessly and even helped me understand how to transfer files to and from the Quest. I currently have over 20 Gbs of music stored on here now and absolutely love filing through the "vinyl coffin" ! I would really recommend to the devs to add more button features such as beat-masher which adds a whole 'nother creative element to the playstyle and one of my favorite features in other djing applications. Other features I would recommend would be a flanger, a siren, a beatstop (music slows to a stop) , an automatic rewind, a phaser, a reverb, a delay, and maybe even a separate drum pad for fun (that ones a little out there lol). All in all, for a free application you can not pass this up if your even considering hoping on the decks at your next party or interested in learning mixes and matching bpm's and all that. As for me, i'll be spinning some Nujabes and letting the time fly! Cheers! 🍻
Looks really cool. It seemed to have worked for everyone else but the tutorial doesn't work for me. There is no cd to grab in both game and tutorial. Everything else looks great though but I wish I could try it!
EDIT: I actually didn't allow for the media to be used. Thank you for helping me out! I tried the tutorial and it was simple and easy to understand. I never done anything with this equipment so this more for fun when I do it. If you need practice with this stuff or just like making music I would check it out!
