Freakishly cool. So, there goes an hour! The motion controls were easy to learn and pretty soon I was flying freely through Google earth. Zooming up to outer space and the dropping down to Venice to zip through the canals. Whoa. Then over to vermont to check out and fly up some of my favorite ski runs. It’s a treat to be able to fly, and explore the earth. Loving it. And can’t wait to see features later into this.
Super Fly! I got this app on its release day in App Lab. I don't think there is any app like it for standalone Quest. You stand (or sit) on your own personal "drone" and fly around the world. The controls work great, and I had zero motion sickness, unlike other flying apps. It was super cool to fly over rooftops and between buildings in New York City!
The team that created Fly also created VZfit, which is a biking/fitness app I use a lot. They are very responsive and always updating VZfit, so I assume they will do the same with Fly. I'm looking forward to exploring the world and seeing what else they do with this new app!
Great App! Hi. You got a really great App. As a baseball and football fan, I specially appreciate to locate and record small videos of stadiums. The level of detail is awesome for a stand alone game. The controls are cool to. If you go to Hoover Dam, continu your way up to Vegas. It’s very cool to fly between the hotels on the Strp!! Hope to see many new cities and location soon.
Just wow. I fly paragliders and the initial view in FLY is what that looks like. Except in FLY I can climb to a few miles high, get proportionally accelerated automatically, and fly to Paris. Then drop down and fly through the streets to my student apartment.
An excellent brief tutorial sets you up for fun. Flying is easy to control even your first time, then just easy and fun. For a first release this is an incredible achievement. Not to be missed.
Much potential. Ever since I used Google Earth VR on Quest Link, I’ve been longing for something similar that is native to the Quest. This is the closest I’ve seen yet. I love the experience of riding around on a large drone. Really well done. It needs work with the UX and accessibility, but this is early and the devs have done quite well so far. I would love to be able to sit down and fly around without having to lean forward to move. It really needs some navigation options.A simple move of the joystick or a trigger should suffice for moving so I can relax while exploring. But, minor complaint. Overall, highly recommend. Looking forward to continued improvements.
Very cool, but lacks essential functions. First off, thanks for bringing somewhat of a Google earth experience to Quest! I love to loose myself in the app but would even more so if it had:
- an option to only use Controllers or Hand tracking for Navigation. Leaning is just too bothersome for long time use - an option to jumper to custom locations. I needed almost an hour to find where I live. - related: an optional minimap. At the moment I switch to Google maps in a browser to orient myself and its really annoying. - nearby landmarks. The landmarks it shows are not really relevant for me.
Awesome fun. Amazing app, would be great if can add so we can choose our own locations or Atleast more cities to teleport too,, you have Gold coast Australia in destinations yet don't even have Sydney or the capital so i had to fly for ages trying to guess and figure out where sydney even was where I'm from, need a tab to be able to search locations ourselves, absolutely cool app regardless
