Could have been so much more. This is basically a virtual DJ sequencer that lets you cue up a song that has preset loops, sequences, etc for bass, synth, etc, then build up, break down and piece together everything how you like it on the fly. It reminds me of early 2000's when companies would advertise an artist's new song on web sites that let you play a flash game that had the song's components you could turn on and off to make your own mix. This is fun.. Until you realize this game's flaws. First, pretty much every song is "chill hop". You will not be rocking out and wanting to jump up and down while revving a siren like you're DJ'ing a hardcore rave. Nope. Every song sounds like something you'd sit down to mess with after making a nice cup of tea. Second, the snippets if song you hear in the selection screen sound better than what you'll be able to create when DJ'ing them. There's just certain things missing that make it feel like a ghost of the real song. Maybe the vocals on one. Or some insrrument on another. You're basically putting together a lot if pads and ambient sounds then banging in pretuned instrumentals that sound fine with you just waving your hand around blindly. It's designed to all sound good together, so you always feel like you're in "training wheels" mode. You lay down some sound, but get bored after a few minutes, even with all the bells and whistles. Third, they missed the wild opportunity for a "build your own" mode. Just throw you into the DJ arena with the tools and a library if sounds you could pick n choose to assign as you please. That would have been AMAZING. If they went the extra mile to let you record MULTIPLE loops for instruments instead of one single 4 beat measure that loops per instrument, that would have been fantastic, too. But they didn't. They have the basics of a really cool virtual DJ here, but phoned it in with Sunday groove song selections, and limiting you to just remixing them as is without being able to really add anything more. It's a very basic sequencer and virtual DJ experience. You'll have fun chilling for 30 min, then puy it away and only pull it out every now and then when bored. This could have and should have been so much more.
Used to be great…still fun. This game had so much going for it, but after the Heatwave update it was abandoned. Still a fun time though, just don’t expect anything more. Multiplayer on the PC is just ok. Wish they would have kept it going.
No multiplayer ?. So there’s no multiplayer on Quest version. While the PC steam version has multiplayer. Wonder why quest doesn’t. And I wish there was more options and more orbs in the songs. To add sounds to. And change things up. Songs songs only have a few instruments to play with. Nerds like 4 orbs for every song. Still a fantastic game though. Just needs more options in songs
My Favorite app so far. This is my new favorite game. I love music and DJ's I am not musicly inclined so this game allows me to feel like a real Dj. Learning from it also. A feature that I really wish it had would be to choose music from online and to record what songs we make. Then there would be no game out there that was this great
Let's Jam!! My only complaint is that we can't make songs from scratch as of yet. Outside of that, the game itself is pretty dope. The volume issue is more of a hardware (Oculus quest 2) thing, but it's an easy fix if that's super important to anyone.
Will be looking forward to updates in the future, JAM ON!!
Not deserving of all this hate. I've seen a lot of people giving this game crap because "the graphics aren't as good as the PSVR version." While I don't disagree, I would like to turn your attention to the thing that this game is ACTUALLY about: the soundtrack. While the Quest 2 has bad sound quality (and this can easily be fixed with a pair of earbuds), this game has an absolutely stellar soundtrack! A wide variety of songs to choose from gives you basically endless combinations of mixes and different styles you can compose. Plus, if you're really enjoying this game, most of it will probably be spent with your eyes closed, or your focus will be on the instruments instead of the environment. All in all, great game. Although I wouldn't mind some DLC!
Groove maker experience EZ 25% off. This game is just so fun! I can get lost in mixing and matching different pre selected beats and sounds. I thoroughly enjoy this title as just one of those relaxing borderline therapeutic experiences.
Give it a try for yourself with 25% off here’s the code Just add the “dot” before the “com”
Bare bones port of a better game. I played Electronauts originally on PSVR. Now, I know Quest versions of games have to go through some downgrading to work properly, but this version is just stripped of so many features that it might as well be a different game.
For the positives, the game has a good number of songs to tool around in, with various effects and transitions to use. Most of it works well, and it's fun mixing a song in your own way.
Unfortunately, the positives end there. Lower graphical fidelity and a lack of a player model I could deal with, but the dynamic backgrounds that move in beat with the song was a pretty big hit. Apparently there was multiplayer in the PSVR version, but I never engaged with it. That, it seems, is also missing from here.
The biggest hit of all for me is the total lack of being able to save recordings of your songs. PSVR version had this, where you could work on a section, save it, and make a different section. You can make a whole coherent song mix, have it saved, and just bask and listen to your creation. Not the case in the Quest version. If you wanted to make a mix, you'd always have to do it manually. I really can't say I understand why this was removed. It doesn't seem like something that would make the Quest struggle. Just ends up being a real deal breaker for me, on top of the other missing features.
I'd say get it if you're into EDM and could listen and mix it for hours, but don't bother otherwise.
Why did it get worse. So I used to play this game on my psvr recently though I bought a quest and I was download some of the games that I used to play on my psvr and tech graphics were better there was more stuff it’s just like it ripped the main components of the game that made it a good game especially for the psvr because ya know it’s not as good as the quest but it is just so much worse on the quest it’s like it’s a totally different game with no life in it.
Fire but wish there was co-op. I've had so much fun messing around and remixing songs. I have on play for a little and it was worth the $20. The only thing that I wish that would make the game a million time better is if there was co-op, I would love to jump into a a don't with a friend and start messing around and remixing songs.
Opium Pulses Review. Electronauts is a music-based game that gives you simple tools to remix and manipulate music on the fly without any musical talent or knowledge, which on the whole, it achieves incredibly well. You are given a choice of up to 80 songs that you can load up and play specific track sections, vocal verses and instruments. The tools at your disposal allow you to warp, loop or mix the audio at will, but it’s the orbs that we believe offer the most creative direction, acting almost as drum pads that play short audio samples that can be cut off early by hitting another orb, meaning you can, for the most part, play samples as slowly or quickly as you like to accompany the rhythm of the song.
After finding songs that match your tastes and experimenting with different tools until you find the ones that are most enjoyable to you, its incredibly easy to get sucked into the moment and for a brief period, feel genuinely like you are creating unique and impressive soundscapes without any aid besides the backing track you have loaded in. Sometimes you’re so impressed with what you’re managing to achieve that you’re bummed you don’t have a real audience there to worship your newfound musical talent! There’s sadly not even a virtual one there to act like you’re their new idol. Graphically for the most part it does the job, but there are some close-up textures of speakers etc that just look straight up blurry.
Sadly, there is a pretty big omission in the Quest version of Electronauts, the complete lack of multiplayer. When there’s not even a record function in the game, it can be pretty lonely pretending to be a megastar DJ without a single person to share the experience, regardless of how much you’re smashing it – this is a large drawback and makes the game’s appeal feel dwarfed by its PCVR counterpart. We also kinda wish there was a 360 table option just for the fun of it!

Yes. This is amazing, the fact that you can make music rather easily sold it to me. I use this for just making music but also use it for my music work GCSE it’s easy to use and get used to. Highly recommend.
