AAO VR Education is an immersive ophthalmology simulator that provides unlimited opportunities to develop eye care skills, receive feedback, and build confidence in detecting and treating retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
Enter a virtual neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), equipped with realistic ophthalmic instruments. Examine dozens of virtual infants in a safe VR environment until you master all techniques.
ROP Diagnosis Use the indirect ophthalmoscope, scleral depressor, and BIO lens to perform a retinal exam. Diagnose your patient, including severity, stage, and zone, and recommend follow-up.
ROP Treatment Treat with laser or intravitreal injection. Use the laser console to apply photocoagulation, or set up your patient for intravitreal injection.
Practice or Test Yourself Multiple modes let you practice with guidance or assess your clinical skills. Multiuser mode allows you to join other students or faculty in real-time.
