Great little Golf Game. Nice little Golf game with lots of potential. The Developers have done a great job on the visuals of the surroundings. I especially like the Antarctic course. The Graphics of the whale jumping is great, also the detail in the penguins dotted around are amazing. Takes a bit of getting used to the putting, I’m used to walkabout golf. There are 4 courses each with a different theme. Definitely worth trying.
Note for Developer The ball could flow a little bit smoother, seems to be a little bit gripping, but great work so far.
Much better than I thought it would be. As a big fan of walkabout mini golf I thought to myself this is going to be a waste of time but what the hay it was free to download so why not give it a try. Let's start with the positives. Graphics were very good not walkabout quality but very good. A very big positive for me was the elevations of the greens and how easy it was to recognize the breaks of the greens. No other golf game can match this. None! Now the big negative for me that all other golf games except for Walkabout minigolf have. The ball feels like I'm hitting a marshmallow. I know it's virtual reality, but Walkabout mini golf does not have this problem and is the only game that doesn't. When I hit a putt in walkabout there is a satisfying clicking noise and slight feedback in the controller that I actually feel like I have hit the ball. If you address this and fix it I will change my rating to 5 stars.
It’s a great start and a fun game. Mini golf is so fun in VR. This isn’t on the same level as Walkabout yet, but a great start. Unique and different experience. I recommend to anyone who enjoys Walkabout Physics are good. Just a few inconsistencies in the way the ball moves. Thought I hit something invisible a couple time.
I guess it's inevitable that all new mini golf games will be compared to Walkabout Mini Golf, so I'm not going to do that.
I have only played the 9 free holes.
Thoughts that occured on my first playthrough experience: 1. Why is there a countdown before the game starts. It's the number of strokes that count, not the finishing time, right? 2. Sometimes the ball rolls far away, sometimes not that far. Then again, I can't guarantee that my swing is consistent. Slopes and lie ofcourse also affects the shot. 3. Short puts feels more accurate. 4. In my opinion, the club doesn't look as great as the rest of the game. But that's just cosmetics, and on a positive note, if I could throw away the club in frustration after making a really bad shot I wouldn't miss it. 😉 5. All holes seems to be located in a "hollow", so even if I miss my putt the ball often rolls back closer to the hole, and sometimes in the hole. Hope not all courses are designed that way. 6. Finishing at +7, room for improvement. I definitely have to play again, that was fun.
Now that I've played 10 rounds, or so, I have become a better player, but still wonder about that countdown.
Making a hole-in-one is always satisfying. I'll be keeping my eyes on this game. It can become an ace.
