Undecided. If this game is meant to be a full-on simulation of disc golf, then it fails horribly. Physics are incredibly bad, the hand angle and release point almost feel random, disc numbers do not fly the way they are labled, and when putting, either you throw it 5' for 300' its almost impossible to make puts over 10' away. Forehand throws need fixing. They come out as a tomahawk, or go 90'.
If this isn't meant to be a simulation style game, then you can look past most of the major issues.
Gheez. I love the game but a few things irritate me to the max. Out of bounds boundaries, way too tight in some situations and hard to control distance that well to be that tight. Secondly the teleport button being the button to turn with, it so easily triggers while setting up my throws. Other than those things, it's a very fun and entertaining game
My new fave game! Really well done (and as far as I know the ONLY one) disc golf game! There are lots of courses and discs to unlock, but what really makes the game is the 100% correct and accurate physics. If you are good at the actual Disc Golf you'll be good at this. If not, you soon will be! Frustrating at first but after a while the pleasure of seeing it float perfectly straight into the basket cant be beat! Good discord community This is what VR was made for, very immersive and great fun with up to 4 friends. A few bugs but remember this is still in the app lab, so thats expected. Still a must buy!
Disappointing and honestly a disservice. Come on man! Super stoked to have a disc golf game and this is what we produce?? Just like every other IRL Disc golfer this is a joke, I’ve played about 36 holes and changed all my settings to attempt a feel for the game. With a flick of my wrist my putter goes 120+ feet? Not a thing btw. How about you guys crawl out of your parents basement, go to a disc golf course (yes it’s outside) and observe the actual game your simulating! As a avid bowler as well the simulations from the bowling games are far superior and I imagine the coding for hand position, strength/speed and variable release positions are very similar. Call them up and learn how to code a game for sports correctly. No wonder you got zero actual disc golf sponsors…
Changing to 4 stars. My initial review was not positive. Like the opinion of most IRL discgolfers this game does not deliver as a real world replacement. However, after having downloaded and tried this again I think it does a fine virtual job. My tip: If you are thinking you can bring your real world throw to this your wrong - try throwing the disc out in front of you like a putt using a static stance and facing your goal. Use a sort of granny push putt and use your wrist to spin the disc out. Your arm speed and wrist flick will determine distance and angle.
I just can't figure this out. I've played disc golf irl a few times now, so I know how to play, but I just can't figure out how to translate that into this game. Part of it is that I'm terrified of whipping my hand around to throw these discs because I feel like somethings gonna break. Even in boxing games I don't have this fear so strongly. But the game looks nice and seems to have good features. So I can't really play it but I can't necessarily not recommend it...if that makes sense? At least try it for yourself
nerve racking. this game has some great graphics and design. everything is done really well with visuals. i give that 5 stars . but as for the controls moving and all that jazz is perfect . the only nerve racking thing is throwing either im really dumb or the throwing controls are extremely hard to get down . I literally gave up after the putter part of the tutorial because i couldnt get the long throw down . maybe if they had popup videos with it on how to throw with a visial of a human with a headset an controllers to show you what you should do instead of the robot .
It just doesnt translate. The game is fun as a "video game" but it is definately not a substitute for the real thing. As long as you realize it then it is ok.
I realize you cannot track angular spin rates so it really makes it impossible to truly model flight path physics.
The Dev team is friendly. In the end however it was not for me.
Needs a few tweaks. I really like playing but as is, I think I'm ruining my IRL form. I think a diagnostic set up could be a nice feature. Such as putting. Most disc golfers know their 15 foot putt and can do the motion in their sleep. To judge a players putt, maybe have the game put you 15 ft out and have the player throw what they feel is their 15 footer. Once the game records your throw, it would have a much more realistic idea of how you putt. Currently my 15 ft putt is going about 100 ft. Maybe a button press to put you in putt mode would be required.. Could do the same for drives too. Great job so far and I'm looking forward to the finished product.
Needs wrist angle settings. My mind naturally wants to think of gripping the controller as the disc, meaning I hold the quest 2 controller flat (controller ring perpendicular to the ground). However, if I throw like this, I am putting extreme hyzer on the disc. Also, IRL discs seem to have more nose angle correction (or maybe tactile awareness allows our coordination to correct this more easily), while the game seems to take a more literal approach. Basically, everything I have done in real life to throw the disc flatter and keep my nose angle hurts my in-game throw . Also, anytime I putt farther than 35 ft (even shorter if I try to spin putt), I seem throw like 80ft - 100ft. I want the game to succeed, but it's not worth buying without these options or corrections.
Fun, but lacks realism. If you actually play disc golf don't expect this to be some sort of training aide or anything close to the real thing. Look forward at the basket and throw a frisbee throw, anything else will send the disc going in wide directions. The putting is also very hard to get correct unless you do it very slowly.
That being said, it's really fun to navigate the course and toss the discs around. Not a bad solution if you're cooped up and want to play a round but can't.
Great game, looks cool tweety birds chirping away in the trees, nice relaxing game, until you miss a simple shot ..then you call yourself lotsa names for missing as your mate just beat you. Defo recommend this game to everyone, lotsa fun, cool courses to play, worth getting as you will play it alot....hahaha
Gold! I downloaded this on a whim, but much to my amazement I fell in love. I have only been playing with the 2 start up discs ...until I realized you can unlock different discs. Sure to say that had me enthralled until my headset was dying. This game is so fun, challenging, and relaxing at the same time. I can't wait for the full game.

Good Fame. Took a while to get the hang of it but getting there look forward to harder longer courses and more discs. Recomended
The most realistic VR Disc Golf. This game is terrific and the devs have done a great job porting the PCVR version over to the Quest platform. This isn't a gimmicky VR disc golf game, the physics behind it are always being tweaked and updated based on user feedback with the intention of getting the experience to feel as close to real life as possible. With just a little practice you'll notice your real life throwing motions translate into the game with very satisfying results. The variety of discs to unlock gives it a nice sense of progression, and the courses are very well designed and resemble courses you'd visit IRL. It's just a ton of fun to play and keep coming back to - solo or multiplayer.
The game is constantly being updated and the devs are incredibly involved with the player-base. Definitely recommend it!
Amazing! Best disc golf sim on Oculus. The latest physics update was an amazing improvement. Discs fly and react like a real disc. Beautiful realistic environment, nice ambient music. Can't wait for the full release!
Only complaints are that occasionally it won't automatically take me to my next shot and will have me throw from where I just was if I don't manually travel to the spot. The OB line is REALLY touchy, and it calls some shots OB that really shouldn't be that are right on the line. I also have a heck of a time keeping forehand throws flat. If I follow through at all, they always end up almost in a tomahawk even though I've got a great forehand IRL.
So good. I have reviewed this game before but now I feel like I need to do it again. When I first downloaded this to my quest 2 it didn't even start up, now it's one of my favorite games. I can tell as a consumer that these developers have been working tirelessly to make a true disc golf experience. I played other games like disc ninja and lemme tell you that all the gimmicks and flash doesn't mean a thing if the gameplay isn't there..... This game has the fun gameplay. I will say that as a single player game it is lacking, but if you have a friend it is one of the best purchases( and it's FREE) I have ever made. The courses are fun and the discs feel correct. I don't know too much about disc golf but my BF has played for years and he loves it just as much as I do.
Frustrating. I've played a few disc golf games now and all of them are frustrating. If you disc golf in real life you are going to find that your techniques do not work in any of these games. If you don't mind having to curb your real life ability to play, then it could be fun. I think the devs are doing the best they can with these games, but perhaps realism is not the way to go with disc golf VR...
