A Fast Paced Shooter set in a Roguelike Metaverse crafted by the B99 AI itself. The remnants of humanity are forced to challenge a Labyrinth created by an AI trained on Classic Digital Games. For the B99 it is only a Game and you only the Player. For humanity it is survival. Upgrades and Weapons abound to help you overcome Enemies, Bosses, and Traps looking to end your Run.
BUY THIS GAME AND SUPPORT THE DEVELOPER! B99 Untethered (or B99 Overclocked if you're playing on PSVR/Steam) is one of those games that I am getting more and more excited for upon it's final release.
I've begun to notice a trend in the meta quest library of games where most of them are heavily inspired by other games made in the past I.e. the PS2 or PS1 days. This is one of those games that emulates the feeling of being warped into a 1980's arcade cabinet and being in the game itself. Two other games I could recommend off the top of my head that do this successfully are Space Pirate Trainer and Ark & Ade.
B99 Untethered, although still in app lab as I am writing this, feels like an upgrade from both of the games I just named, combined with what I think has the PITCH PERFECT GRAPHICS for a game that is going in the direction of being a retro experience with modern VR gameplay.
I absolutely adore how the enemies are represented on the radar like random alphabet characters, which makes me feel like an antivirus destroying a bunch of micro viruses in a computer.
Have you ever heard of that game on the DS called X-Scape? Yeah this game is essentially X-Scape if it were a roguelite and in vr, and is one of my favorite games of all time simply because I am a sucker for games that take place in a cyberspace. Another reason why I'm excited for this game to graduate from App Lab.
I have not beaten B99 as of yet but the gameplay is *chef's kiss* top notch. According to what I have seen on Twitter and YouTube, this game has been in development for almost a decade and I'm hoping that the game gets to graduate from App Lab in 2024
A fun & well crafted rogue shooter. Enjoyable, fun, well crafted with that little Indie touch you can't find anywhere else. Seated VR is a plus too so you can relax and blast away. Game progression is nice and there's a real motivation to clear levels especially to meet the bosses.
I love the uniqueness of it, total full package, an ode to vector graphics. This Quest2 port makes no concession, it's all there. Impressive! The trailers and screenshots may look confusing and too colorful or trippy, but in VR the perception of it is so good. Sometimes I just roam around filling my eyes with all those awesome colors and shapes, definitely a great break from reality!
Good rogue old style. I like this game. It’s not a favorite but I like it. Love the neon colors. Shooting is some getting used to as it is very much video game style, so the shots aren’t bullet sharp. And the one thing they need to fix is that seat the player is in totally obstructs your view when going down platforms. I was killed many times because of this to the point I had to just avoid them and go another way?
The ultimate 80s metaverse fantasy. If only the dev had big marketing clout to advertise this game, it would be a top 10 VR hit. THIS is what VR was made for - true immersion in fantastical realms, with gripping gameplay. It's like being inside a dream. Kudos!
