Not ready yet... I want to start by saying that this is a good game. I know it was made by one person, and that's why I decided to support the developer and buy the game.
However! There are three problems in this game that significantly spoil the experience:
1. Sloppy graphics. I don't have complaints about the overall level of graphics; rather, it's about the lack of attention to detail. I constantly see textures sloppily applied to objects, which could be trimmed in the wrong place or stretched/flattened. Additionally, there are numerous shaders that strain the eyes. It's worth cleaning this up.
2. Dumb enemies. I understand that essentially, this is Megaman in VR, and enemies in Megaman were not known for their intelligence; they simply repeated some primitive patterns. Nevertheless, I often get tired of dealing with cyborgs running straight at me and flying gadgets appearing in different places.
3. The loading screen consisting of a bunch of repetitive, generated AI pictures. I have nothing against AI, but it could have been used to create a whole narrative comic instead of looking at a bunch of repetitive pictures.
If these issues are not addressed, the game is destined for niche status on the sidelines of the Apps Lab. And that's unfortunate.
Cyborg 17. I played the first part for a while, but wasn't particularly impressed, and it was just too difficult for me and I quickly got frustrated. Part 2 does a lot better and although it remains a challenge, it is not as difficult as part 1. After an introductory tutorial, varied levels await the player, each with their own final boss, which I particularly liked. But the best thing is still the speed, because System Critical is an incredibly fast shooter. The new secondary weapons and different main weapons are really fun and the jump and run elements are better thought out and the checkpoints are better placed. Great shooter, with lots of setting options.
An Incredible Gaming Experience! Wow, what a ride! From start to finish, it kept me on the edge of my seat, and I must say, it's one of the most engaging games I've played in a long time. I even found myself working up a serious sweat as I tackled each level, pushing myself to the limit. Making it all the way to the end was an achievement I'm proud of, and let me tell you, the last level was no joke. I had to break out the knee pads and employ some high and low crawling tactics just to survive! The challenge was real, but that's what made the victory all the more satisfying. I should also note that this game is like the futuristic Megaman games. You'll understand more when you get into it. "I caught the Bridge to victory, and used my Imagination in the heat of battle."
Instant Classic. Idk how to explain it but I felt like I got transported back in time into an arcade machine, fantastic movement fun and tough gunplay. Fair checkpoints and fun boss fights this game really has it all not to mention a killer soundtrack this games is bada$$ just go buy it 🔥
What If Mega Man Was A VR Game?. If you were a fan of the old school Mega Man games, then System Critical 2 is a game for you. System Critical 2 is a game that plays like a platformer from the 90s. From the running and gunning, to the platform jumps that strikes fear deep inside of you. This game gives you a rush that I have not felt in a video game in very long time.
The game sports some amazing graphics with a retro sound track, that gives you an immersive world from the past. The controls and gameplay is spot on for some really fast action. The game is packing some of the toughest gameplay I have experienced in VR, and dyeing over and over is a given. Like the old school games, you can't just pause the game and save your progress before attempting a jump or taking on a boss. The game only saves after you have finished a level and only has check points to respawn at during your run.
The game is broken down into 9 levels, each with a boss at the end to battle. I have only finished 4 of the levels after putting more then 3hrs into the game. If you are looking for a easy game where you can complete it fast, this is not the game for you. This game is for the people who want to face a challenge and you will need to put in the grind to master and complete the levels.
The part of the game I enjoyed the most is jumping from platform to platform. Some of the levels left my body shaking, and I had to take a break from playing to relax and pull myself together before moving on. I do not have a fear of heights in real life, but this game struck so much fear into me with some of the jumps. I even lost my balance a few times while playing it and all most tumbled over.
If you are like me and find most of todays games just don't pack a challenge and you can beat them in less then a week of game play, then try this game out for sure. Prepare for some sweat soak clothes from how intense this game is.
