Wow. This is exactly why I've always loved Sega during the era of arcade games and the Dreamcast. It's an amazing experiment when you play a game without even understanding what you are doing and why, and yet you can't stop. I highly recommend it to everyone who loves an unusual, new experience.
My favourite VR title. There’s very little I can say to explain to people just what this game is. It’s part rhythm game, part on rail shooter, part dreamscape and all around breath taking. This game will make you feel sick but keep you coming back for more. It is addictive, simple and a real treat for anyone to experience. Both the Classic mode from the original game and Area X are gorgeous in their own ways and the soundtrack is immediately captivating. This isn’t just a game, it is truly art and though it can be experienced on a flat screen and still be enjoyable, VR makes this game into something far greater than it has any right to be.
Rez is made for VR, Even though it wasnt. Been a big fan of Rez since buying it day 1 on the dreamcast, was always such a vibe and really felt ahead of its time... And this VR version proves it, as it feels like it was made with VR in mind.
The only way to explain Rez is its an on rails shooter, you aim and lock on to enemies and incoming projectiles, release and you fire to the beat of the amazing music. Speaking of music, it's a big part of the game, and it ramps up as you progress through the levels before you take on a boss.
It's just an experience being in the rez world, zooming through as the wire frame world slides and spins around you. Play with headphones on, and get in there!
Crazy to think this game is over 20 years old, and this VR version is so faithful to the original.
Amazing. I started my 15 minutes trial, and put it down after 5 minutes so I could purchase it in full. It’s exactly the reason why I bought a VR set. It’s immersion is brilliant, and with the soundtrack I’m not sure if i should sit down and play the game or be up dancing. Brilliant game guys, would highly recommend!

"Rez," for me, is more than just a game; it's a digital odyssey that transcends the conventional boundaries of what a video game can be. This game is a personal journey through a kaleidoscope of sensory experiences, blending sight, sound, and touch in a way that is both groundbreaking and deeply moving.
The gameplay, a rhythmic shoot-em-up, is only the surface. What makes "Rez" truly special is its ability to create an almost trance-like state through its integration of music, visuals, and vibration. Every level is a unique trip, with pulsating beats and evolving landscapes that react to your actions. The game feels alive, almost as if it's an extension of oneself.
The most profound experience for me was the way "Rez" merged its electronic soundtrack with the gameplay. Each shot and each enemy destroyed contributes to the rhythm, creating a symphony where I was both the conductor and the performer. It's a game that doesn't just entertain but resonates on a deeper, almost spiritual level.
Moreover, "Rez" pushes the boundaries of what a game can communicate. There's a narrative there, but it's told through abstract visuals and sounds, leaving much to personal interpretation. This ambiguity adds to the game's allure, making each playthrough a unique reflection of my own thoughts and feelings.
In essence, "Rez" is a masterpiece of digital art. It's a game that challenges the norms, asking the player not just to engage with it but to feel it. Every time I play, I don't just see or hear "Rez," I experience it - a journey through a digital landscape that is as introspective as it is exhilarating.
An immersively wonderful VR experience. I’ve long considered this to be the definitive VR experience on my PSVR2, so when I had the chance to re immerse myself in this amazing musical universe on the Quest 3, I was hoping for the same incredible experience…. & that’s just what I got…. & more!!! Now that you can okey this wirelessly, it adds a whole new dimension to its surroundings when you lock on the alien hordes in high numbers to get a chain combo…. simply by looking at them!!!! Amazing technology!!!!!👍
Great soundtrack. Fun modes. Low latency wireless or wired headphones are a must when playing this game. The Area 1 to Area 5 modes gradually introduce elements of the main level song into the mix until you get the full song cranking in your ears.
While you can play the game seated, I discovered that playing while standing does give you more ability to get 100% in the levels.
If you are new to VR you can disable some of the more dynamic transitions in the game (the scene goes dark) to avoid any chance of nausea while standing. But even when I was new to VR I didn't find this game caused that sensation.
I don't think the game supports cloud saves so if you upgrade from Quest 2 to Quest 3 your progress doesn't seem to transfer.

Unspeakable. Not to pay you back on the other guy but there really is no way to put this game into words on what it is and what you're doing it's something that has to be experienced

Great memories from the dreamcast era. So happy to play this again Can't complain about anything . I have so much good memories with this game. Played it so much on every platform i had Dreamcast Xbox 360 Psvr 1 And now finally on quest 2 The only issue i have ist that the volume is too quiet in area x mode I hope the devs wil fix this. This game is made to play on max volume 😁 Hopefully one day they will ad more of the area x stages. Or maybe a rez 2 🤗
Rez as it was meant to be played. If you enjoyed the original Rez, this is beyond amazing and you owe it to yourself to play it. If not, it is still a decent 90's style bullet hell shooter with fantastic sound design!
classic bullet hell in VR. It looks and sounds awesome and gets that 90s VR vibe and aesthetics. But because you can directly aim now instead of the old analog stick aiming, it becomes a piece of cake. Well worth the experience but it's over in an hour or so... and those with motion sickness beware that it can be wild. Overall, Tetris Effect distills much of Rez mesmerizing audio visual wizardry into a better and more enduring game.
Great Demo behind a bad ported old game. Rez is an overall chill rhythm game, for those who already played it. You arent missing out much when playing this. In addition, things sound a bit off compared to the original and the graphics are very poor not even upgraded.
Area X was new, very beautiful and intriguing but it only lasted 15 to 20 mins and it was over.
Old games being ported to VR is fine and all but this seems like a lazy port, compared to other titles like RE 4 VR where they at least upgraded the detailing and graphics here and there.
If this company can expand on Area X into a full fledge game lasting 8 hours or more at the same price though, I am game to purchase something like that.
Awesome game, need more like this. It's really an amazing game. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it needs more levels. Really gives that "lawnmower man" feel.
DC classic the way it was meant. Visit linktr,ee/gaving7095 for 25 % off this game and many more 😀
I heard that the original vision for Rez was for it to be this immersive, which obviously wasn’t possible back the day. But thanks to Quest now we can enjoy this classic shooter / music game the way we always should have.
